Q: How faithful is this to GTD (Getting Things Done)?
Can you compare it any to NirvanaHQ, one of the purest GTD apps out there, which I should also mention is a $49 one time fee.

May 15, 2024A: So to compare it to Nirvana. Nirvana is basically a subset of Marvin. If you ever wished you could tweak one thing about it or have one extra feature, you will be very happy. Common add-ons are calendar integration for example. Or a random task picker from our next actions list, or the super focus mode to work through the list.
It works incredibly well for GTD and supporting all the GTD paradigms is very important to us as it is one of the most popular workflows out there.
The idea behind Marvin is to allow you to set it up to fit your unique workflow. There are many ways in which you can customize your setup. We also have a workflow library with setup templates. There are currently three GTD ones you can use. One mimics the Nirvana HQ app, one is our take on GTD and the third one is built based on David Allen's original notes on the "perfect GTD app" which he released a few months ago. So with one click you can try these setups and then adjust them to your needs if necessary.
Your areas of responsibility are categories, then we have projects to sort into those, taks to create action steps for the projects, you can use labels for contexts, create smart lists to have next action lists or lists batched by activity (e.g. calls, emails) or really any kind of list, there is a weekly review, an alert when a project has no next actions etc. etc.
And if you are missing anything, just let us know. It is most likely on our roadmap. ;)

Wow, you even know about those notes. Major nerd points for that! I'll give it a try. Best of luck!
Oh and there is Nirvana HQ import. ;)
