It's been a busy month at Amical, and we shipped a ton of updates. Here's what's new:

✍️ Draft mode

Plain dictation types out what you say, cleaned up and formatted. Draft is different: you speak the instruction, and Amical writes it for you.

Hold the Draft shortcut (Fn+Ctrl on macOS, Ctrl+Win+Alt on Windows - it's customizable) and ask for what you need: a Slack reply, an email, a prompt. Say "draft a quick email to my manager asking for tomorrow off, I've got a dentist appointment" and Amical composes it in a review window. Not quite right? Hold the shortcut again and say what to change. Enter inserts it, Esc discards it.

It'll also rewrite text you've already selected. Highlight a clunky paragraph, hold the shortcut, and say how you want it changed. Draft is in early preview and runs on Amical Cloud today.

🧩 Snippets

Short trigger phrases that expand to longer text while you dictate. Define one once, then just say it mid-sentence and Amical swaps in the full version: a mailing address, a signature, an email template, anything you retype often.

Say "send the package to my home address please" and "my home address" becomes the real thing, with the rest of the sentence flowing around it untouched. Set them up under Settings → Snippets. See the docs.

📱 A big month for mobile

Both apps got new views for Notes, History and Settings, with a New button always in reach.

On iPhone

• The Amical keyboard is now a full keyboard so you can type and talk.

• Start and stop dictation straight from the Action Button.

• A Live Activity keeps your status in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen, with one-tap off.

• Plus multi-language dictation and tap-to-retry on failed transcriptions

On Android

• Text insertion is more reliable.

• Failed transcriptions are now tap-to-retry, so a dropped word isn't lost.

• Your screen stays awake while you talk.

Also shipped

• Less AI-sounding output

• Faster startup

• Cancel mid-dictation with esc key

• Ranked mic priority: When your preferred mic is unavailable, Amical falls back to the next in your order, not the system default.

• Windows fixes: No more focus-stealing or stuck keys, and updates install while you're idle instead of interrupting a recording. Still seeing focus issues? Update to the latest build.
