🌮🌮 For Many, +Bonus 🌮 For Hope
To start, I'm a professional SEO. I'm going to review this as such. Everyone has their own needs, so YMMV. I try to keep less experienced folks in mind, but I'm not going to pull punches. Now let's dig in.
🌮👍 So, the tool suggests plenty of keywords (up to 1000 at the moment), which is good.
🌮👎 Search volumes and CPCs are WAAAAAY off. Ahrefs is spot on with ~6k search volume and ~$40 CPC for keyword tested. Authoritas was 18k search volume, $0.69 CPC. I was able to verify these numbers via Search Console and Google Ads, and Ahrefs was +/-10% from the last 30 days.
👉 For keyword research, it was OK. Volume and CPC were bad. I'd rather use Keywords Everywhere for $10/yr. SEO is all about using data to make educated guesses. The big boys like Ahrefs and SEMRush have the $$$ for great data. It will be hard for these companies to beat them on that. Just a heads up for my fellow Sumolings.
🌮👍 So, if you wanted an LTD rank tracker, it's "OK" for that. It discovered a few keywords on its own.
🌮👎 National rankings are going the way of the dodo, and I see no option for local rank tracking. That's a big negative for me, but maybe it's enough for you. I'm targeting zip codes and metro areas in my work.
🌮👎 The UX feels a bit dated. Things slowly load, and there's no real "working" UI that lets you know something is loading. Most pages default to showing five rows (useless amount of data). It leaves a lot to be desired. It's not a deal-breaker, but it could use improvement.
🌮👎👎 When it comes to backlinks, it found some (5) vs Ahrefs (623), so that's not useful.
OVERALL 🌮🌮 = If you have no SEO tool and need "something" to get you started. It can give you keyword ideas, allow you to discover a few links, crawl a site, and track some keywords. It wasn't speedy, but it wasn't terrible. Just understand that the keyword metrics aren't gospel, and it is not anywhere near a tool like Ahrefs in speed or data quality.
BONUS 🌮 - The "Advanced Content Strategy" would be a great tool if they get it working for small sites and include it for free at some point. It's not guaranteed right now, but I'll toss on an extra taco for hope.
For me, it's an easy return. I have tools that do everything here better than this. It's not worth holding. I wish y'all the best of luck, and I hope you get that "Advanced Content Strategy" working for smaller sites to earn that bonus taco. ✌️

May 9, 2024Hi there,
Thank you for providing so much detail, it has been shared with the whole team!
We are definitely interested in investigating the search volumes and CPC values further. If you could provide some examples through the Intercom integration found in the FAQ, it would be really helpful!
As for local rank tracking, we support down to the Zip Code level, apologies if you could not see it! This is covered in the Youtube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE5PB4tCFEw&list=PLMigWAPHG0iyY8UMJUj4DjuXHwZY6NyMU&index=2&t=13s
Lastly, we've received some fantastics feedback from the Sumoling community on UX so far, including comments you shared. We have already planned to work on UX, in line with with the feedback and you can keep up to date by following our progress on the public Product Roadmap: https://theoptimisers.authoritas.com/groups/5156108/topics
All the best!
