I purchased backgroundcut via appsumo. Although it worked fine at first, over about the last year, it has trouble uploading an image from which I want to remove the background, and just sits there doing nothing. After a few tries to upload the same image, I then have to upload a different image just to get it to upload anything. Sometimes it again uploads nothing, so I sit there and try to upload different images. After it uploads another image (not my desired image), it then lets me upload the desired image and removes the background, so all is good. However, its hesitation to automatically upload a new image has me thinking (and dreading) every time I have to use the software, with a thought in the back of my mind that MAYBE THIS TIME WILL BE THE TIME IT WILL NOT WORK, PERMANENTLY.

I reached out to the backgroundcut creator/provider probably 6 or 9 months ago and explained the problem. However, the only suggestion I was offered was to make a video of what was happening because they couldn't replicate it on their end. I have no way to create a video. I put up with that for a few months and AGAIN got fed up, so wrote to them again 3 or 4 days ago about the same problem, and thus far no response. So here is my review. I am pretty much ready to find another software to utilize.

I had to drop a note to say how much I love this offer! Obviously, not all background removers are prefect, but I am amazed at the how well BackgroundCut handles intricate florals, etc!! Must have in your arsenals for creatives!!!

For me, it’s a true game changer! And on top of that, there's an API! Hats off for the API-first approach – it deserves a bonus Taco! I’ll give it an additional 5 stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It works as advertised. Made my workflow faster. I dont know why but this tool crops better than Photoshop's auto crop one. Sometimes of course the tool gets confused whether to crop or include it in the output, it's because some images are bleeding colors or have too much details. But yeah after using this for a month+ it's like 80-90% accurate. It will be useful to others too as long as the images they need to crop are not too detailed. 5 tacos to the team!
