Q: How customisable is the Brand Guide?

Having a Brand Guide that is automatically produced can indeed save a lot of work. Nevertheless, it's crucial for agencies to be able to customise the content — and the advice — for each individual brand, as needed. How much are we able to customise the content of the guide? — for example:

1) Can we specify the 'Logo Safe Zone'? The 'safe zone' that the Baseline suggests seems to be the same for every logo — and not large enough for most of the brands we work with.

2) Can we add additional items to the 'Prohibited Uses' section? We need to advise some brands not to use drop shadows, outlines, etc.

3) Can we change the 'black' and 'white' used for colour variations? When adding a brand colour, Baseline automatically generates variations between the colour and 'white', and 'black'. But our brands have their own 'white' and 'black'..

A: The brand guide is pretty customizable and we are working on making it even more customizable.

To answer your specific questions:

1) Yes you can edit the Logo Safe Zone. You do that by clicking on the cogwheel next to the brand name in the brand dashboard and select "Logo Safe Zone"

2) No you can't add additional items to the prohibited uses, but it has been requested a few times lately and we plan to make it more customizable.

3) I assume you are referring to the shades and tints of each color? You can't currently but it's on the roadmap.
