I wanted to like Beagle for many reasons, but I have come to dislike it quite a bit. It is realistically a 3/5 product for me because of the following main reasons: - uptime monitoring is unreliable (uses a simple GitHub actions-based monitoring) and essentially just a feature to pad the features list - scanning speed varies quite a bit, but the main issue I have with it is that it often includes things that it should NOT include - such as scanning the main domain when the scanned app is on a subdomain - support is just non-existent for me - I have sent a few questions/requests for support in and have really never heard back (except for a "we'll get back to you"); you'll notice bizarre things with support such as their chat indicating availability in "under 5 mins", but your message stays there unread for hours on end... - I am not sure I can trust there is much "penetration" testing happening beyond cursory scans that a lot of free tools out there provide; I just don't know if I can fully trust this tool.
Apologies that this review won't align with the many other positive ones! It all depends on use-case scenarios and the apps tested, I suppose.
For context - my apps are Angular/Ionic/JS/Express apps.
I run a SAAS company and need to run Pen tests after every update. It is comforting to have this as one tool as a line of defense.
They are still young and there are some buggy things with their recorder. Though with that being said they make up for it in good customer support. What was buggy, they just went into the backend and resolved it. So got fixed.
The only issue I have is it would be nice to show somewhere in their reporting all the tests performed and the results. I know this would be a long list, though we get asked for this by clients often. So we have to use a different service to make our clients happy, when they ask for a Pen Test. Though for the price, piece of mind, and ease of use I would definately buy it again.
Excellent tool, thinking about upgrading the tier.
Buy the Tier 1 license to test the tool and the results are EXCELLENT. It has completely exceeded my expectations. It is extremely easy to use, the time of the reports although it says that it can vary and take up to 3 days, the two that were executed were completed in a few hours.
The dashboard is very clean and easy to understand, the recommendations on the detected vulnerabilities and much more. In addition, I configured the Uptime with alerts to Microsoft Teams in a very simple way.
My recommendation: Buy NOW so you don't regret it.
I bought BeagleSecurity twice. First time was weeks ago, but as I was short on funds, I refunded, only to repurchase.
Now, why BeagleSecurity? Personally, I had cases where clients want to know if their hosting is fine. And as I manage their setup, it was hard for me to do penetration tests myself. Plus, it can get quite pricey.
With BS (BeagleSecurity for short), I'm able to present my clients with a report so that they'll know that their site is secure. And best thing is, I can bill them for it. Combined with AttentionInsight and you get a powerful combo to impress new clients :)
