Q: Hello!
I noticed the new voice update recently. It definitely sounds more natural.
The only issue is, I'm an English speaker with a classic British accent. Your platform It has correctly imitated my cadence and tone, but has made me sound American!
Is this a limitation of the ai you're using (as in; we have to wait until a third party fixes this) or a configuration changeable on bHuman's end (as in: we're working on it, and will have a fix shortly)
I know I now have the opportunity to switch back to the old system, but the new one is something I really feel I can integrate into my business, so long as it's not Americanising me all the time!
Cheers

May 14, 2024A: Hey Mike! Thanks for the note. Happy to hear the new voice model sounds more natural. We've gotten feedback from non-US users that it does drop the accent, though. So we are going to be making the old voice model available for those who want to use it in order to better maintain their accent.
Our AI researchers are working on combining the naturalness of the current voice model with the fidelity of the former one! However as it's still in R&D, I don't have a hard timeline for you on when that will be out. So in the meantime I recommend opting for the old model which captures accents better.
Hey Don,
Thanks for letting me know!
I'm not too fussed about timeframes, but I don't feel comfortable using the product with the original voice model, and the American blips will be jarring for my customers...
So can you say that a British accent will definitely make it into the platform at some point?
(also, as a lighthearted sidenote... It's technically you yanks with the accent :P )
Cheers!
Hey Don, just bumping this.
Will a British accent definitely make it into BHuman at some point?
(A VERY rough, no commitment ETA would be cool, too if possible. Are we talking weeks, months, years?)
Thanks!
