Very promising service with a great built-in 'Hey Blip' feature

Review updated with my current conclusions: After some initial issues I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I also switched to a different external mic even though the old mic I was using worked perfectly fine with about four other competing services that I've been comparing. I also updated it today, and I think they maybe made some changes under the hood.

Whereas it initially failed my whisper test, it now works great with whispering as regular volume voices. I also don't have to speak louder, like I found I had to just a week ago. This team is really responsive and really working to quickly improve their apps. At this point, I am super pleased at how well Blip AI is working. Their latest Android app that added the accessibility option to have the bubble pop up and insert text in any field is really great. It works really well.

One standout area that Blip AI has over the other four services i've been trying is their 'Hey Blip' feature, which is pretty incredible how they have that integrated to have some on-the-fly AI prompts. That shows a lot of promise.

A recommendation/feature request I have is that they add an option, to mute the system audio when the hotkey is pressed (on Windows). Several other competing tools offer that option, and it is quite brilliant. Say if you're listening to music or watching a YouTube video on your computer and you want to start dictating, you just press the hotkey and it mutes the rest of the system audio, lets you dictate, and then it restarts the system audio when you release the hotkey.

I'm really impressed with the software and excited at how quickly certain things got improved and new features added. I highly recommend this software.

Update: Hey, thanks for the feedback. We suspect that your microphone is not selected correctly. Since Blip needs your microphone to capture your audio, there may be echo or other issues, which is why it takes time to capture your voice. Generally, it happens instantly. Would you mind checking your microphone in the settings to ensure the correct device is selected?

Secondly, there is a possibility that some words may cut off at the end, but since you are saying "2, 3, 5 seconds to release," that should not happen. We haven't seen this case, and it works instantly in 99% of the cases.

Do not worry, we are here. If something goes unwell, we'll fix it as soon as possible. But looks like majorly it's mostly configuration or microphone or some settings. Also one thing you can try is restarting the app if it helps.

For the Android on the Play Store, that is a beta version and it has some bugs. We already have version 2 available; you can download it by clicking the "Latest APK" button below the Play Store button on download page. It includes fixes for the login issues.

The Windows SmartStream Warning is not permanent. It appears for every new application and takes time for the Windows ecosystem to recognize the app. We have heard that it can take up to 10,000+ downloads.
