Blip AI is one of the best tools I use regularly. I've replaced all my previous apps, since it's perfect for my workflow. The developers continue to improve the product, so I believe they can be trusted long term.

Blip.ai has potential, and the 200,000-word allowance is appealing. However, the app still has frequent transcription errors, including inserts words I did not say, or transcribes words that are totally unrelated (hallucinations), and updates are not being delivered consistently.

The latest release, v0.5.6, was published on July 19, and users are directed to GitHub to download and manually install updates. That may be manageable for technical users, but it is not a particularly accessible update process for everyone.

I have reported several issues, but responses have often been slow or have attributed the problems to my microphone or setup without properly addressing them. I also asked for a timeline for fixes but never received one and the developer either says it will be fixed in the next update, and then it's not, or promised for it to come, but how do you not update your app in almost 2 months with knowing issues?

I am still using the app for now, but buyers should understand that it may not be actively maintained or supported at the level they expect.

Initially the developer was more responsive after the initial AppSumo release, and then has been less and less responsive and I have to follow up with him, only or him to push off accountability and responsibility. There also seem so to be a language barrier as several things I point to in my email are either not addressed or misunderstood. I would have refunded in my window had I know this was how it would go.

PS: It also often does not put the transcription into the chat box I am in, so I have to go manually open the Blipp app and copy from history. Which slows down workflow, and really takes away from the perk of using voice transcription to save time. It's very annoying.

This is a waste of money. . In Blip, all the shortcuts don't work on your app. You have to set them up again.
It's slower to process the text. Sometimes it fails, and we have to start over.

I'm asking this here because I've gotten the product and each day it says an update is available, but I can't update it because it's a dmg file and no explanation has been provided as to how to update it.

I bought it, uninstalled it, and paid for it all in the same day. In the end, I'm sticking with Mac's dictation, which always works.
The dialogue logo keeps freezing. It recognized my voice once all day and constantly asks me to speak louder, even when I'm already speaking loudly and clearly. Really Frustrating and no more patience.
