I think it will be unlikely that we will allow custom background images on boards....and I'd like to explain why this is.

We're a small team, so we have to be super focused on what is going to add the most value to our end users, and we can also not compete with the likes of Trello/Clickup/Monday on a feature by feature basis...so we have to focus on doing less but doing it better — that's essentially our main key competitive advantage.
