Disappointing Experience with Blue
I had high hopes for Blue, but after using it, I am left utterly disappointed. The initial allure of the product, as portrayed on the website, is deceiving. It promises a sleek, user-friendly interface and robust features, yet the reality is far from it.
User Interface and Experience:
The UI is outdated and cumbersome. It feels like a relic from the past rather than a modern, intuitive tool. Navigating through the platform is a struggle, and basic tasks that should be simple are overly complicated. For instance, deleting a project took an absurd amount of time to figure out, and renaming a column was an exercise in frustration.
Performance Issues:
If you are outside the USA, beware. The system is painfully slow in certain parts of the world, making it nearly unusable. For a digital nomad like myself, this is unacceptable. Other project management tools handle global use without a hitch, but Blue seems to struggle with basic performance.
Misleading Marketing:
The biggest letdown is how the product is marketed. The features highlighted on the website either don’t work as advertised or are so difficult to set up that they might as well not exist. The promise of a streamlined, powerful project management tool is simply not delivered. The fact that I cannot get a refund only adds to the frustration.
Customer Support:
While the support team is friendly, their assistance is often vague and unhelpful. They are quick to respond but slow to provide meaningful solutions. The lack of a clear roadmap for essential features like project templates and custom fields further diminishes confidence in the product.
Conclusion:
Blue is a product that over-promises and under-delivers. Its outdated UI, poor performance in some regions, and misleading marketing make it a frustrating experience. I expected much more based on the glowing website descriptions, but what I got was a tool that feels half-baked and far from the polished solution it claims to be. Until major improvements are made, I cannot recommend Blue.

Aug 23, 2024Hey Jason,
Thanks for taking the time to try out Blue. I'd like to cover a few of the points below:
For deleting projects, this is found on the dropdown on the settings icons right next to the project icon on the top navigation bar, which is a common design pattern. I just checked both Asana and Clickup for the sake of comparison — they do exactly the same placement of the delete project button. That said, we are taking your feedback into consideration, and will add a ••• menu on hover for projects on the sidebar, where the entire project settings can also be reached.
With regards to renaming/adding columns in database view, we've shipped this feature already this week based on the feedback from yourself and others. The reason we didn't have this is that we are primarily a kanban tool, and so we have not developed our database view as much as we have with the kanban. Turns out a lot of AP users do use the database view, and so we are quickly shipping new features to help them out.
For the performance, our servers and systems are not based in the US, so it should be fast for users outside the us as they are likely geographically closer to the database and storage systems. That said, we had an unexpected rush of new companies this week, with over 2000 new companies signing up, which may have caused slow downs at peak time. We're actively monitoring this to ensure everything runs smoothly for everyone.
With regards to the refund, AppSumo offers a 60-day refunds on purchases made through their site, and we ourselves offer 30-day refunds from direct purchased from subscription customers, so please reach out to the AP team and they can refund your purchase.

We've already have project templates and ~20 custom fields.
Thanks again for giving us a shot!
