Hi Sumo-Lings!


This is Ruben from Boei!


I bought my first AppSumo product in April 2015 and have been a fan ever since. It is super awesome to have my product now on the platform!


A bit about me: I'm 31 and living in The Netherlands. I started developing when I was 12 and never stopped!


I have created Boei because none of my friends like to use live chat:

- Sometimes you don't get a reply

- You have to keep the tab with the chat open

- Sometimes you get a reply but you forgot to open the tab and the agent is already gone again


I didn't like that and I wanted to develop a simple method

that helps customers to select the contact method they like (e.g. WhatsApp or Twitter DMs).

This helps to build a personal relationship with customers

and also makes it possible to answer when you have time. Which was a big deal for me because I am often in another timezone than the other party.


To give a real-life example:

Last week I was eating lunch and someone messaged me on WhatsApp,

it was a new client that had just signed up and needed some support. I was able to check her photo which made it much more personal.

I was able to help her in 5 mins which is awesome.

The next day, I saw she created a similar account so

I opened WhatsApp again to see if everything is ok.

It was and she created the account for a friend.

These kinds of things are awesome and make the digital conversation much more personal.

- How do you pronounce Boei? Let's say it together: "Boei". Guess that doesn't really help, but I have saved a sound fragment at my site at the bottom of the page :)

- Can you add xx contact method to Boei? I would like to! Please add your idea to the feedback and roadmap portal or contact me via the Boei button.

- Does Boei slow down my site? Boei's script is 300 times smaller than the Intercom script. Your page weight will be cut down, your site will load faster and your visitors will stay more focused.
