I'm Jan, Founder & CEO of Bookster. I started working on apps after graduating at 16 and have helped grow products to over 80M users & most importantly, millions of life's meaningfully impacted in the process.

At 13, my mother was diagnosed with a condition that gave her a 97% chance of death within a short period of time. Wanting to make her proud of the person I could become before her passing, I dived head first into books, podcasts, ted talks and many other forms of education, and though I grew exponentially and changed my life, I quickly realized that most of the time, effort and money I put in was lost after a couple weeks or months since inevitably I just forgot most of what I read. That experience was the seed of Bookster.

Years later, I realized that book summaries, podcasts and educational YouTube videos were becoming extremely popular, but no company was helping people actually comprehend, remember and apply what they learned, so they were just going down exactly the same road as me.

So, since no one seemed to care enough, I decided to change it myself. Bookster was born in 2023 out of my own pocket change, and quickly grew to become the #1 books app in over 13 countries.

Now, with more than 1.5M users, we have grown past books, podcasts and videos, and can help you discover, remember, understand and apply anything you learn from absolutely any source in the world in minutes, and keep that knowledge over time.
