Received an email today telling me that I'm being shut out of all future updates. What a scam!
Here is the relevant info from the email:
"As a SaaS, we had our ups and downs and hit a wall last year.
We made the tough decision to restart Breakcold from scratch: new product, new codebase, new database, new everything to try to make it in this crazy CRM market.
This new product, labeled V2 for simplicity, will not be granted to LTDs...
If you want to migrate your data and subscribe to the new Breakcold product, please note that we're still finishing the migration system this week as the new product is not officially launched yet (more on it soon)."
“We Rebuilt Everything”… Except Our Commitment to LTD Users
What is being presented as a “natural evolution” of the product is, in reality, yet another example of how the LTD concept keeps getting diluted within the AppSumo ecosystem.
We’re told they’ve “rebuilt everything from scratch”: new product, new codebase, new database… and conveniently, this becomes the perfect justification to leave behind the very users who helped fund the project in its early days. Because while Breakcold V1 is technically “not discontinued,” in practice it’s being frozen into a secondary version while all meaningful development shifts to a new product that LTD users won’t have access to.
And here comes the ironic part: “hey guys, we’ve thought about you.” Of course you have. You’re leaving us with the old version, with “active” support and the occasional update… basically like that old PC everyone has sitting in a corner: it still turns on, it does the basics, but it’s no longer part of anything that matters.
This isn’t an isolated case, but a worrying pattern: more and more deals on AppSumo end up evolving into extra plans, credit systems, fragmented features, or forced migrations that ultimately push users into paying again. The messaging stays the same, but the commitment fades.
Once again, the value of LTD gets distorted: early users take the risk, validate the product, and provide initial cash flow… only to be left behind in a kind of “legacy version” while the real business is rebuilt without them.
The message is clear, even if it’s never explicitly stated: LTD is for getting started, not for growing together.
So here’s the obvious question: what is AppSumo going to do about this increasingly concerning trend?
Then, over time, development and updates began, leaving out Appsumo users. They weren't adding Lifetime functionality, they were trying to get users to pay monthly.
All of this made me feel second-class.
In December, he wrote that he was working on version 2, but he didn't mention how he would treat us yet, just asking for feedback.
Now, however, they've announced that there will be a version 2, but it won't include Lifetime users.
I hope you'll reconsider.
For now, I'm giving it the lowest rating, with the option to change it if you think about it. 🤔
We purchased breakcold lifetime deal while knowing that the product was a work in progress and needed polishing. That’s what launching on AppSumo is all about.
The worst nightmare just happened today. Breakcold just broke up with all Appsumo users, putting us in the friendzone of version 1 and not version 2. Big disappointment. Arnauld, I hope you would reconsider your decision and not let down your thousands of early adopters. Best wishes

I hope Appsumo watches
Again another Appsumo lifetime deal bites the dust.
In an ugly way.
I already bought less and less deals than I used to at Appsumo.
It is just too frustrating and expensive to have such or similar experiences.
And I feel cheated.
I won't go into details in order to save my time, but just read the latest few reviews.
Users who ever consider to buy Breakcold Version 2... you may want to think twice...!

The story with Breakcold was like this.
At first, everything seemed good, maybe too good❓
Then, over time, development and updates began, leaving out Appsumo users.
They weren't adding Lifetime functionality, they were trying to get users to pay monthly.
