Q: Features clarification
Hi, I am confused about the following features (on the fence between tier 2 and 3):
Developer tools
Zapier integration
Webhook support
I am not a techie so hoping to understand how are these going to be useful to me? can you please give examples for each?

Great question — and you’re definitely not alone here. These features are optional power tools, not things you need to use to successfully run a directory or membership site.
Here’s a simple, non-technical way to think about each one:
• 🧰 Developer Tools (available in Tiers 5+)
These unlock access to the BD API and advanced integrations. They’re mainly useful if you want to connect BD to other software, build custom workflows, or sync data between systems. If you’re launching a straightforward directory or membership site, you likely won’t need this right away.
• 🔁 Zapier Integration
Zapier lets BD “talk” to other tools without custom coding. Common examples include:
– Adding new members or leads to a Google Sheet
– Sending contacts to a CRM or email platform
– Triggering follow-up automations when someone signs up
This is completely optional and only helpful if you want automation beyond BD’s built-in tools.
• 🔗 Webhook Support
Webhooks send data out of BD when something happens, like a new member, listing, or lead. These are typically used alongside tools like Zapier, Make, or CRMs. If you’re not planning integrations yet, you can safely ignore this for now.
Big picture:
– Tier 2 is great for building and running a directory or membership site using BD’s core features.
– Tier 3+ gives you more limits and flexibility as your site grows.
– Tier 5+ is ideal if you know you’ll want advanced integrations or custom workflows down the road.
You can absolutely start simple and grow into these tools later — nothing here is required on day one.
