Q: We need to sell digital products and after a purchase, we would need to update values for this customer/ buyer in our external mysql database.
Is there a way to do this? Some sort of middle-man http-request and mysql-query m

YES. When a Digital Product is purchased by a user, you can send that purchase data via Webhooks to a 3rd party platform. The easiest and most direct way to do this would be with using tools like Zapier, Pabbly or Integrately to catch the data from the Webhook... and then import it to any solution.
