First off, I'm a long term member here with plenty of AppSumo deals under my belt. I was a software support analyst for 20 years in my past career. Now I'm business owner.

I really wanted to like this software but time after time, it fails me.

As a Gen Xer, the premise is appealing. Remember when digital greeting cards were a thing in the 90's? Unfortunately, CardClan is poorly executed.

I've encountered numerous bugs. Customizations like CNAME were frustrating to implement. I contacted support by email as instructed in the admin panel. Nobody replied. After a week or so, I went to their chatbot and asked for help. Saad told me this is the preferred support method.

Another example, when I copy and paste the URL (because you can't rely on email delivery - always ends in SPAM), there's a chunk of blank space after "recipientId" followed by a number.

And the worst, whenever I try to customize a card using fields like [name] or [first name], it doesn't work in the preview nor in the final delivery. When you're trying to impress clients with a nice gesture, it's embarrassing and unprofessional when it doesn't work. Last night, a client got a card that said "Hey [First Name] instead of "Hi Cody".

Disappointed...

Saad is fantastic. Great customer support and this software will change how I send emails to clients.

I can't wait to see how CardClan evolves.

I wasn't sure about this one but thought if I could send personal notes a bulk Thank You notes completely branded and on my own domain, I'd give it a try and see the response. I run an online ministry amd 100% of our revenue is gifts offerings and one time donations. At the end of each month I send a thank you email to all who supported that month with an update of highlights of accomplishments.
This month, I downloaded/ uploaded a csv of all our backers for the month and put out a branded thank you card with a personal note and the number of people who wrote back to thank me for the card was astounding. I rarely get a response the monthly email but the card triggered an avalanche. So I'm sold.

The merge fields are quite limited, restricted to name and email address, where I'd like to have some custom mapped fields, for example the donation amount where I could say some thing like "Thank you for your gift of $xxxx". I also find the templates quite dated, so I used my own graphics, but the function and deliverability were quite good.

CardClan is excellent, I use it a lot for staff and clients.

We are working with Saad to get our Pabbly connection setup to CardClan. Excellent support and troubleshooting as we figure out why the CardClan App cannot see recipient email from the mapup field connector. I will update this as we learn more!
