Q: Training characters are one-time - even after removing / deleting training data or agents?

To my understanding, the training is one-time and gets not refilled every month. For example, in tier 1, we get 5M of characters per agent. What happens if the trained data or the agent is removed or deleted? Are the deleted characters reset, or does it mean that there are only 10M characters (5M * 2 agents in tier 1) for all the data that has ever been trained? Can we buy additional training characters, at which price? I was thinking about your awesome web scraping feature and the automatic page updates for training. On a large site, the training characters could be used up very quickly if they are not reset. Thanks in advance.

A: Hey,

Thank you for these excellent and very detailed questions. Understanding how the training limits work is crucial, especially for dynamic use cases like the web scraping feature you mentioned.

I'd like to clarify a key point right away: the training character limit is a lifetime limit for each bot.

You should look at it as a concurrent storage limit, much like the storage space on a hard drive. It's the total amount of training data you can have actively stored in a chatbot at any given time. To answer your questions directly based on this model:

- What happens if the trained data is deleted?
A. Yes, absolutely. If you remove training data (or delete an entire chatbot), the characters used by that data are immediately freed up and returned to your available pool. You can then use that same allocation to train new data.

- Is it a lifetime pool of 10M characters?
A. No, it is not a lifetime pool of all data that has ever been trained. For Tier 1, your account can hold up to 10M characters of active training data for each bot at once. If you delete 2M characters, you can add another 2M characters.

- Can we buy additional training characters?
A. Because the limit works like storage space, most users find they can manage their data within their plan's allocation by removing old or irrelevant information. However, should you consistently need more concurrent training data than your plan allows, we have options to increase your limit, either by upgrading to a higher tier or through a custom add-on.

This concurrent model is specifically designed to work well with our web scraping and automatic update features.

I hope this clarifies how the limits work and makes you even more confident in using the platform for large, dynamic sites.

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
