Q: How are AI credits calculated? First site was 72 of 200 credits, gulp.
Hi, I was excited to try this and entered a prompt for a new company website to test it. I used Bolt AI earlier with a similar prompt and it created compelling site with a strong message, but I can't colloborate with anyone. Claritee was fast, created a nice site map, and seemed very intuitive. The design was not as a good, but a good start to start collaborating. Claritee's hero section seemed so plain and generic. Then I checked and this one site, ate up 72 credits out of my 200. At this rate, I would be lucky if I can get 3 sites a month. Can you explain the AI credits?

Great question — thanks for giving Claritee a spin and sharing your experience so far.
Claritee uses AI Actions to calculate credits. Each type of generation has a different weight depending on how much processing it takes. For example:
Sitemap → ~0.1 action
Enhance (prompt enrichment) → ~0.1 action
Section (layout block) → 1–2 actions
Full layout page → ~20 actions
Layout → Design (HTML export) → ~30 actions
So when you go from a sitemap → full layout → full design, that’s a chain of actions that can add up. That’s why a complete end-to-end generation can look “heavier” (like the 72 credits you saw), while smaller actions are much lighter.
The good news is we’re adding the ability to generate designs section by section soon. This way, you’ll have more control, higher quality in key areas like the hero section, and lower credit usage overall.
We’re also continuing to improve both the quality of outputs and efficiency of AI actions, so you’ll see even better results over time.
Best regards,
Moish
