Excellent Targeting for Local and Regional Lead Building
I picked up Cleanlist.ai because I was looking for a prospecting and enrichment tool that could help me get more specific with local and regional lead building. So far, I’m impressed with what the platform is capable of, especially when it comes to filtering and drilling down into a more defined audience.
One of the biggest wins for me is the location targeting. A lot of lead tools are great if you’re targeting large markets or broad categories, but they fall short when you’re trying to build a list around smaller communities, local service areas, or a very specific geographic radius. Cleanlist does a much better job of helping you narrow the search and find people who actually fit the criteria you’re looking for.
For my use case, I’m working with a broader ICP — business owners, smaller companies, local/regional decision-makers, and companies under a certain employee count — so I’m still working through the best way to structure searches and get the most value out of the platform. The filters are deep, which is a major plus, but there is also a learning curve if you want to use the tool strategically instead of just pulling broad lists.
Pros
The location targeting is one of the strongest features I’ve seen in a prospecting tool, especially for users focused on local or regional markets.
The filtering is very detailed, which makes it easier to refine searches around a specific ICP instead of wasting credits on contacts that are not a good fit.
The interface is clean and approachable once you start working through the workflow.
The tool seems especially useful for agencies, consultants, business development teams, local service providers, and anyone building targeted outreach lists.
Customer support has been responsive and helpful, which gives me confidence that the team is actively engaged and will continue improving the experience.
Cons / Areas for clarification
The biggest learning curve for me has been understanding how to get the most value from the included searches, credits, and workflows. There are several ways to use the platform, and for a new user, it takes some time to understand the best path based on your prospecting goals.
I also found some of the credit/search language a little confusing at first. But I am working through it because I see the value of what this software can do for our team.
As a new user, I would love to see more onboarding guidance before having to make decisions about which tier or workflow makes the most sense.
Hopes for the future
I’d love to see clearer documentation or onboarding around how credits work, and how users can get the most value from the included features. A simple comparison, walkthrough, or use-case guide would go a long way for users who are trying to decide how to structure their searches.
I’d also love to see more guidance around best practices for building searches by ICP, especially for users targeting local markets, small businesses, or niche segments.
Overall, I’m giving Cleanlist 5 tacos because the platform has real potential, the filtering and location targeting are strong, and the team seems responsive and committed. I’m still learning which workflow makes the most sense for my use case, but I can already see how powerful this could be once the onboarding and credit usage are easier to understand.
For AppSumo users, especially those who rely on targeted prospecting, this is definitely worth a serious look.
