    Overview

Collabwriting is a browser extension that helps you collect research online, share notes, and collaborate with your team in real time.

Collabwriting helps you collect info from direct sources without jumping to other programs and interrupting your research flow.

You’ll be able to collaborate on any web page or PDF—and it’s just as easy as working together in Google Docs.

That’s because this browser extension lets you highlight and leave notes on digital content for your team to review.

Besides plain text, you can also add links and screenshots to your comments to visualize your ideas.

    Note Taking

Leave notes on web pages and PDFs using Collabwriting’s browser extension.

Collabwriting lets you save highlighted excerpts in a virtual workspace, where you can keep them organized by topics.

Whenever you’re ready to hand everything over to your team, you can share your research via link or by adding a specific user to the project.

Plus, you’ll be able to set different access permissions to control which collaborators can edit, comment, or view your documents.

    Collaboration

Easily collaborate on web pages and share your research with others.

Collabwriting lets you export your highlights and notes, so you can compile them for the projects you’re working on.

You’ll be able to export your research as a PDF that’s ready to print or as editable text in Google Docs, Notion, Craft, and Word.

Best of all, this platform will keep links to highlighted sources intact, along with any comments left by collaborators.

    Notes export

Export your notes to Google Docs, Notion, Craft, and Word.

With everything organized on a unified platform, you’ll always be able to find your research in context whenever you need it.

Even if the original source changes, Collabwriting will save your original highlights while letting you track changes made by your collaborators in the app’s activity tab.

And you can even cluster topics and search through the app to make sure your information is well-structured and ready to go.

    Collaborative features

It’s a cinch to access previous highlights on the original source document.

Finally, there’s a simple way to wrangle all the information you need from anywhere on the web (without overheating your laptop).

Thanks to Collabwriting, you can collect and annotate web pages and PDFs to share your research directly with your team.

    Simplify your research process.

    Collabwriting intro

    Hello, Sumo-lings! 🎉

I'm Sandra, one of the co-founders of Collabwriting - the best way to find, share and collaborate around the information you find online 🪐

💡 Why we decided to create Collabwriting?

3 years ago I was running a marketing team, creating content plans, and doing a bunch of research to make sure all the pieces aligned with our audience.

During that process I realized how disconnected the information I found, the people I wanted to share them with and the output we were creating were.

Email, Slack, Google Sheets, and Docs - our links, notes, and key information were all over the place.

That’s how the idea for an easy-to-use tool, where you can just create highlights and leave notes anywhere where your research takes you, organize them, and easily get to them, came about.

🔗 Connecting information, insights, and the output you create

    Collabwriting today consists of:

➡️ a Browser extension that enables you to find, share, and collaborate on any content found online (PDFs included)

➡️ a Dashboard - organizes all of this data making it searchable and actionable

Through the extension, you can create topics, highlights, and leave comments on any webpage where you find relevant info for your search. These are then synced to the Dashboard, where you receive notifications, have export options, and an activity tab where you can see all the changes made by the contributors to the topics you shared with them.

All the highlights created with Collabwriting are saved as is (no matter what happens on the original page), with a timestamp and the name of the person that saved them. The original source can also be accessed with one click, making the information fully traceable and accessible to all collaborators.

With the option to quickly export all the highlights, comments, and notes, you’ll have an outline for your next blog, report, or even presentation in seconds.

💛 Building a Community of Critical Thinkers

We believe that bringing our own opinions and knowledge into the research we do and the information we collect is a crucial step in creating unique value.

With Collabwriting, our goal is to make this as easy as possible for the people who truly want their unique insights to shine, to create and learn as individuals, but also as teams.

🔮 The best is yet to come

In its first year, Collabwriting reached over 1000 users, and our goal by the end of its second is to get to 100 000. We want to build with you, grow with you, and make Collabwriting the go-to tool for all the lost and found information we come across during our work.

Our team is always here to help, so feel free to reach out any time 💛
