Q: Server USA
I have now seen that IP addresses of website visitors go to your servers in the USA. Unfortunately, this does not comply with data protection regulations. Do you also have hosting in Europe or is this planned?

Hello, yes, for Europe and the GDPR, it is absolutely essential that the main server is located in Europe. A proxy server or CDN doesn't matter. As long as the server isn't located in the EU, it doesn't comply with the GDPR.

Thank you for your message. You're right that GDPR compliance involves how data is handled, but the server location is still a key factor. Under GDPR, transfers of personal data to non-EU countries like the US require strict safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Since the Privacy Shield was invalidated, relying solely on US servers can lead to compliance issues.
Hosting data in the EU significantly reduces legal risks and simplifies GDPR compliance. Especially when handling personal data of EU citizens, keeping it physically within the EU remains the safest option – ensuring transparency, user protection, and readiness for potential audits by data protection authorities.
