Q: Hi there, 1- I have read on your website that remote control would only work using Microsoft Windows, impossible with Chrome.

Can you confirm?

2- I understand that CNAME will be available in the near future for tiers 2 and 3. Can you confirm approx ETA for CNAME?

3- Imagine this scenario. I use another tool for video communication with my clients, which already includes sound and video. During a call, I may want to require giving my client remote control, which would require sharing the Crankwheel url-link. My concern is that this could duplicate-complicate the call somehow, since my audio and video is being used with my communications tool of everyday work.... what should I do in this scenario, what do you recommend?

4- Can I record a session with a client, and download it?

5- And, can i record a session, which would be hosted at Crankwheel, then I grab your provided snippet iFrame code, so i can embed the video-session anywhere?

Thank you

A: Hi, thanks for the questions.

1) To use Remote Control, the presenter needs to use the Microsoft Windows operating system; it does not currently work on macOS, Linux or ChromeOS. The presenter is however free to use any supported browser which includes Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari (and also Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and others).

2) The CNAME feature will be available for tiers 2 and 3 at whatever time we manage to make this a self-serve feature, and I can't give an ETA on that. The reason it's not included for now is that it currently involves significant manual work on our end to set up each CNAME. When we get around to automating it, we'll make it part of Tier 2 and Tier 3 on this AppSumo deal.

3) I think you would be OK adding CrankWheel just for the remote control. You can keep your audio and webcam sharing in your original tool and just connect with CrankWheel for the screenshare plus remote control.

4) Yes, you can record a session with a client and afterwards download it.

5) Yes to most of that question - you can record a session, it is hosted at CrankWheel, and you can link to the video for playback from anywhere. Right now we don't have a snippet for embedding the video as an iframe.

Hope that helps!

Best regards,
Jói
