Thanks to everyone who bought in, kicked the tires, and posted questions here over the past month. Here is what is new in your account today, and further down, what is coming. 

Features added in Dashtera’s latest version 

• Data Playback. Take any file-based or query-based dashboard and play it back as if the data were arriving live. Scrub to any point in time and every chart on the dashboard follows, filters included. Built for reviewing test runs, incidents, trading sessions, or any dataset with a time axis. No real-time connector or add-on required. All tiers. 

• Video panels with data overlays. Drop a video next to your charts and drive overlays on top of it from your datasets: points, paths, labels and rectangles, positioned by the data. Video follows dashboard playback, so scrub the dashboard and the video seeks with it. All tiers. 

• Elasticsearch connector. Query your indices directly with API-key or username/password auth. Logs, events and search analytics land in charts without an export step. Counts as a query connector against your tier's limit. All tiers. 

• Google BigQuery connector. Service-account auth, GoogleSQL queries, results straight into charts. Tier 2 and Tier 3. 

• Data Filters, rebuilt from the ground up. More predictable, more composable, and they play properly with playback. 

• Text panels now take data. Map dataset values into text panels with extended formatting, so a headline number or a status line comes from your data instead of being typed in. 

In development:  

• Custom functions in JavaScript and Python. Write your own data transformations and use their outputs in charts exactly like built-in functions. Code runs isolated from the app, and shared projects will flag custom code before it runs. 

• Map chart drill-through. Click a region on a map and a target chart filters to it, the same way drill-through already works between other chart types. 

• Remote URL connector. Point a connector at a URL that serves a file, CSV, JSON, XLSX, Parquet or XML, and it re-fetches on open instead of importing a snapshot. That includes a Google Sheet shared as "anyone with the link can view", pulled through its CSV export link. Plain fetch only. It does not authenticate, so private sheets and private APIs are out of reach. That larger HTTP connector remains under discussion. 

• Sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple.  

• More databases: TimescaleDB. (Real-Time Add-On) (Query your Timescale hypertables directly, with streaming support for live data. As a real-time connector it sits in the Real-time streaming add-on alongside InfluxDB, Redis and WebSocket, and does not count against your connector limit.) 

• AI features (chart copilot, mapping suggestions, data wrangling from plain-English instructions). As the deal terms on this page already state, AI features will be an add-on rather than part of the lifetime tiers. 

Earlier stage, being scoped rather than built: 

• Time-series forecasting. Starting with statistical models (moving average, exponential smoothing, ARIMA, Holt-Winters) rather than deep learning. This would sit in the Machine Learning add-on, which today does regression and classification only. 

• Filter panel. A global filter panel for the dashboard. Add a data source to it and every chart on that source gets the same filters, with checkbox lists for categories, ranges for numbers and dates, and grouping and aggregation applied across charts at once. Works in viewer mode too, so people you share with can filter without editing anything. Planned for all tiers. 

• Table panel. A plain data table as a dashboard panel, with the option of small charts inside cells. The most-requested panel type we do not have, and the one that lets a viewer see the rows behind a chart rather than only the chart. da

Still under discussion: an authenticated HTTP/API connector, Google Sheets sync, and alerting. Those are the three things asked about most on this page and are under consideration.
