Restrictive BYOK. Users are locked to use only Claude API or buying "custom" in-house model credits. If you don't have high-ticket products to sell, it will be extremely expensive at scaling.
FYI, check the entire discussion https://www.skool.com/dm-champions/unlock-model-flexibility-with-openai-compatible-byok
Can you stop spamming your own service pls
First, I want to be clear that I have no intention of spamming, nor the time to do so. Prospective users deserve clear information about features.
Why haven’t you commissioned an independent benchmarking study of model performance, using a transparent, unbiased, and reproducible methodology?
Time will tell how the community judges restrictive BYOK settings based on an undisclosed in-house model.
It's clear you're just plugging your own service here, man, because your argument just keeps changing and there are like 10 different comments from you talking about that provider you're plugging. Now you're talking about not having time. Regarding the report, it's right here https://dmchamp.com/best/best-ai-model-for-sales-chatbots-2026/
Despite false claims (I expect Appsumo will take note). I invite everyone to read my posts and the whole discussion in skool, then please make your own conclusions.
@Sohaib If you are really transparent, then I will be glad to read an independent benchmarking report conducted by a third party (for instance Arena or MLCommons) that explains clearly what is behind the in-house model.
Mate, we're just a software provider, not an LLM model provider that needs to do any independent benchmarks. I shared a report that explains how we tested it and how you can reproduce it. If you want to bring your own API key, we support Claude. If you don't, you can pay for credits. That's where I'll leave it.
Things worth clarifying 06.23.26
1. The deal page never states BYOK is limited to Claude API only. Buyers deserve to know this upfront.
2. If you're "just a software provider, not an LLM provider" and DMC Max is a managed wrapper (prompts + RAG + guardrails) rather than a true in-house model. That's not an apples-to-apples bench report. What is the underlying model and provider policy behind Max?
3. I'm a high-tier paying customer and was banned from the Skool community today without explanation for asking product questions in good faith. https://ibb.co/84jM4pnq
Users deserve clear information about features and fair benchmarks.
You got banned for promoting your own service. And we could not find any user records since you signed up with a throwaway email. Unless you can email us those, we'll keep you banned.
I will have to report this behavior to Appsumo.
"You got banned for promoting your own service." is totally false. Being a user has nothing to do with being a founder or doing promotion.
If a service works for you, wouldn't you recommend it ?
Even worst, this is proof that you are deviating the real discussion about not providing more BYOK options, which has been requested by several other users.
Also, you haven't clarified the points 1 and 2
If you want your access back, email us your AppSumo order ID and we'll sort it. Right now we've got no purchase on record for you.
On BYOK, it's not hidden. It's clear all through the app that bring-your-own-key is Claude. Maybe not spelled out on the deal page, but it's everywhere else.
The makeup of Max is proprietary. Every product keeps its core to itself, ours is no different. Judge it on the output, that's what the report's for.
And if bringing any provider you want is a must-have for you, we're probably not your tool, and that's fine. We made a deliberate call to do one thing really well instead of being a passthrough for every model.
Leaving it there.
It would be appreciated if you supply a trust portal to ensure privacy-centered users.
E.g. https://trust.hedy.ai
On the meanwhile, there's a legitimate question about the data gouvernance and privacy policies of the underlying base AI model/provider and sub tools behind the makeup of promoted Max model.
Last, about your false and unfunded personal allegation, I let AppSumo's team make the call.
Fair to ask about data. We don't use your data, or your customers' data, to train AI models, and our full data handling, subprocessors and DPA are all public:
Privacy: https://dmchamp.com/privacy-policy/
Terms: https://dmchamp.com/terms
That covers the privacy and governance side properly. The makeup of Max itself is a separate question, and that stays proprietary. Still waiting for your order ID.
