Promising, bit too much fuss
I bought Docxter some while ago and have been using it in a few projects to give it a try. In general I like it, but it does need some polishing.
The UI is clean and tidy. A bit too tidy for me. I don't consider navigating the documents / chats very intuitive. Longer document titles don't fit the navigation, making it hard sometimes to find the right document/chat back. I miss things like tagging a chat of simple making my own structure on where to put the chats.
The document chat itself is good. It's reasonably fast and understands different types of documents quite well.
Suppport I didn't use, but the team communicates a lot by email. I don't like that too much and the tone of the emails doesn't fit the product imo.
The roadmap is public, but I think it is in need of some reshaping, because UI and app stability really need to be fixed before going into all kinds of fancy stuff that they have planned now.
However, I'm happy with Docxter and I really hope the team will pull through and make this application shine as it can.

I'm glad you found DocXter's chat functionality effective and fast.
About document navigation and management, we're working on - File Manager
What is it? The file manager will enable you to have a complete view and control over every document that's uploaded to DocXter. You'll just not be able to find and interact with a document intuitively, but also perform other operations like moving it to/from a collection, and more.
Also, with integrations like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. coming, the file manager will become your one-hub to connect all your sources to DocXter and manage+interact with any document instantly and intuitively!
Regarding communication, we aim to keep users informed but will reassess our email strategy and tone to better align with our product and user preferences.
Your point about prioritizing UI improvements and app stability is well-taken, but on the other end, we are bombarded with feature requests as well.
We understand that balancing new features with system stability can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience as we work to enhance DocXter. We're committed to making it a platform that meets the needs of all our users.
We're re-evaluating our roadmap to ensure these fundamental aspects receive the attention they deserve before implementing more advanced features.
Your patience and support as we refine DocXter are greatly appreciated.
We look forward to bringing you an improved DocXter soon.
