Q: 2 taco app living in a 5 taco body!
I have been a Droplr Pro account holder for a couple of years now and I have only a handful of drops, yet I use CloudApp and Evernote clipper daily. Why? I really want to love Droplr but there are several dealbreakers that prevent me from using my account and are preventing me from buying this deal. I'd love to know if a fix is on the horizon:
1) The biggest issue for me is that I cannot paste a drop directly into other apps, specifically Notion. CloudApp handles this beautifully (capture, Ctrl+V, and I am good!) With Droplr, Ctrl+V yields a url which can then be saved as a link or bookmark but not embedded. The entire process is a major pain. As the number one action that I perform daily, this kills Droplr for me. CloudApp gives you options including: link, direct link, download link, content, and 'save as'. Droplr gives you: a url link?
2) And to even get that link the screen first opens in a new tab. This is a serious productivity/workflow killer.
3) No 1080p recording? Am I reading that right? What year is it?
4) Droplr branding is everywhere. I know that you need to promote the brand to grow and I am more than willing to share, promote, even affiliate, but at 3 or 5 stack this thing should be entirely whitelabel.
5) SSL should be a default setting whether on Droplr or custom link.
Are any of these issues being addressed?

May 15, 2024A: Hey Just_s,
Good questions.
1) We agree on this one. There’s a lot we could do to improve this. No direct answer other than we’re listening and we have this on our roadmap.
2) This can be changed in your preferences: https://d.pr/i/Ss5QFh
3) We’ve optimized our screen recording for speed over HD resolution. Most of clients use it for non-production video recording (I.E. customer support, debugging, etc.) and care more about sharing a recording quickly instead of the resolution, which would slow down the process on both ends. We know this feels like we’re stuck on VHS for some people.
4) We’re working on making the views even more “white-labelable” for our customers. We’re rolling out some updates on this next week.
5) We do support SSL everywhere, even on custom domains. It does require using CloudFlare though.
Thanks!
Some good user experience points raised here, CTRL V would be annoying and multiple tabs it sounds like an alibaba site experience.,
Lots of good questions from sumo’s without answers yet, hopefully they pull their finger out with some detailed answers,
SSL should be defacto IMHO

Good points raised. I would also love a quick way to take a screenshot, annotate and copy to clipboard all within the same app/area/page.
Regarding how to configure a custom domain with SSL, here's our guide on that: https://help.droplr.com/getting-started/configuring-domains
Hiya I have not had a reply from Droplr in over a week - really bad service.
Also Droplr doesnt let you do a specific page highlight screen grab for gif but the whole screen - deal breaker. Also you cannot paste content into things only links which is where CloudApp beats them considerably. I am disappointed as I was hoping to use Droplr but then I tried it and comparatively its poor and I have had noreply from them when i did a free trial about my questions.
Just poor all round. dew days sure delay but over a week come on!
We have both CloudApp and Droplr and had some issues with both over the years.
If I use Droplr to share something then mostly because I can expire the Drop automatically.
Great for automatic clean up and to keep semi-sensitive information limited.

I totally agree... The inability to cut and paste a screenshot directly into another app like CloudApp does is a deal killer for me. I bought CloudApp and use it every day, but it does take a while to upload.
Droplr is much faster, the but cut and paste option has to be added. If this doesn't happen, I will definitely be returning the product.

Zero has been done on the white label front. In fact, they've rolled back the ability to suppress the branding on the lower right side of the drop pages. If I would have known they were going to do this I would have never bought this deal. It's useless now.
