No lifetime value.

I bought this product four years ago. I was hoping for a library of copywriting templates that would be expanded and improved regularly.

To this date, there has never been a single update. It's incredibly bad, I'm astonished how low AppSumo sets the bar for products on their site.

Here's some of the copywriting magic you can generate with it (luckily, the editor is so broken that you won't have to read the awesome followup-mails that come with it):

Hey {firstname},

I’m always humbled when people write to me, expressing their gratitude for giving them AppSumo review.

Usually, they underestimate the value inside the Template; but are surprised when they go through it.

And I don’t blame them since there is lots of BS out there, which makes getting quality information hard.

Now, what about you?

Did you enjoy going through the Template?

Was it worth every second that you spent on it?

Do let me know, as your feedback helps me in making the Template more valuable.

Now that you’ve grabbed the information inside Template, the next logical step is to learn the difference between a service and a one-off bad product, as there are many on AppSumo.

And guess what?

You don’t have to pay anyone a dime to learn this (they charge $27-$67 out there for it).

I’m going to give you access to the information for free.

Maybe now, you’ll believe me when I say that I love giving value.

So click here to download this premium EBook.

You will learn the difference between a service and a one-off bad product, as there are many on AppSumo with it.

If you’re stuck in any way, feel free to let me know so that I can help.

I’d love to make this relationship worth it for you.

Enjoy the EBook and talk to you soon,

AppSumo Reviewguy

not impressed

I was really underwhelmed, the sequences are short, just a handful of emails and the copy isn't great. Also, the interface is pretty buggy, sometimes you get custom emails based on your answers, sometimes it's completely unrelated random templates that frustrate you to no end because you just wasted time on a long form for nothing! Grr! Definitely regretting this decision, unfortunately. Hope you plan to add more robust sequences with stronger copy soon?

Updated review

So it seems after 24hours, and re-submitting password reset I'm able to log in.

First issue I had was clicking a link in the "Change log" area of the dashboard, which took me back to the login screen! After logging in again I gave creating a cold B2B sequence a crack....

I'll post some snippets from the forms (and the generated document) -

First there's a few fields where the "hint" is literally " Hint: Answer this like you are filling in the blank" - ermmm ok. Thanks for that. Other fields have issues for example, "WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT/SERVICE DO?" you answer as the hint suggests (talking to your client) but the output is weird "Here are some thoughts that could help you MYSERVICE ALLOWS YOU TO DO THIS AND THAT .:" - then it goes directly to a list of benefits you enter in another set of fields. It's feels weird.

The copy is low tier TBH, "You can actually do better in this area" being the header of the first email, and "know my previous email might've been an 'educated stab' in the dark" - the quotes are around the wrong part lol - I doubt this is written by native English speaker as the tone, and grammar is all over the place, and the lack of quality control is fitting to say their website doens't even properly function!

You have to enter the answers, generate the email then review and edit answers to match the copy. MY honest opinion is it needs ALOT of work on the copy it seems spammy, like the emails you get from offshore companies pestering to design a logo for you

Hi Mark,

You already gave us a 1-star.
Doing it again is unfair, as it keeps reducing our rating as if too many people are giving the 1-star...well, it's what it is.

In answering the questions from the software, you're given a hint on how to answer it. PLUS, you also have a sample answer format prefilled inside the answer bar. With that, you shouldn't be at a loss at what and how to...
