Q: Does this need custom domain?
Couple of questions actually. Not clear what exactly is here to offer.
1. Does this only work with custom domains? or it works with regular gmail or outlook emails as well?
2. Is this something which offers to do email marketing campaigns with segmentation, tagging etc?
3. Since there is an API, I hope there is ability to integrate with make or other automation tools?

3/ Yes, you can integrate us with any plugin or provider which support SMTP or API to send emails.

I have a domain for my website, but never used that for email. I will see if I can get an email on the same domain so that I can use this tool.
Since it is currently not meant fully for marketers, do you mind throwing some light on what exactly the tool is meant for right now and whom it is meant for? Is it to send bulk emails or any other purpose as well?

You should be able to connect it by just updating the DNS records as the Emailit will show you.
It is meant for integrations, to be used for developers, platforms, webadmins to use our SMTP and API to integrate and send emails through us.
You can send bulk emails too, but no cold ones. They have to be transactional emails or you have to have consent.
