Q: Hi, please pardon my lack of knowledge regarding this service...

I manage a WordPress site for an indie author that has a small subscriber list of 1200 using Mailpoet. Am I to understand that if I send 1 newsletter to those individuals once a month, that would be equal to 1200 emails per month? So, this service just counts the number of emails and doesn't care how many subscribers there are? Some services I looked at base their pricing on the number of subscribers and give a ridiculously high amount of emails to send, which I don't need. Am I understanding this correctly? Do I need to import the subscribers list externally? Or does it integrate with Mailpoet? Also, do you have an easy-to-use start up guide to walk me through the setup?

A: Hi there,

Yes, that is correct. We do not count subscribers, only emails you send.

You can easily integrate using our SMTP https://docs.emailit.com/guides/sending-using-smtp

Or you can send those campaigns directly within Emailit.

Thank you so much. I'm very new to all of this. Looking at the other reviews makes me feel confident that I can do this easily. I'm sold.

Have you successfully set up Mailpoet and Emailit SMTP?
I created a domain (DNS setup successfully), set up Mailpoet, and successfully sent a test message, but it's not sending properly.
If you can tell me what the issue is, please send me your tips at

Hi Sumo-ling,

Thank you for your question about setting up Mailpoet and Emailit SMTP. Unfortunately, we’ve denied it because it includes a private email address (contact@kmemory.org), and our Community Guidelines prohibit sharing personal contact information.

Please feel free to remove the email address and repost your setup details—what DNS records you’ve added, the exact error or behavior you’re seeing, and any steps you’ve taken so far. Once the personal info is omitted, we’ll be happy to review and help you troubleshoot! 💪

I am curious about this. Isn't MailPoet also responsible for sending emails? At least in my account, they handle that. Is this service similar to MailPoet, or is it a hybrid? I noticed you can design your emails, so why would I need MailPoet in that case? Is there a WordPress plugin to integrate the email designer into WordPress?

Hi there,

MailPoet does not deliver the emails, it uses SMTP or API integrations to send them via ESPs (which we are as well).

So you theoretically do not need this and use our Audiences and Campaigns, but for the ease of use, customers prefer MailPoet as they know it and use Emailit to deliver emails sent from it.
