Q: Encharge <> GoHighLevel Integration
I am currently using Go High Level and want to continue using it. However, I am not happy with the expensive per email costs. Is it possible to integrate your SMPT/API emailing system with Go High Level and continue using GHL system for the front end? And Encharge for the backend for sending out SMTP Relay emails?
Is there any support article that can help me with that?
Do you know of any of your customer who has integrated Encharge with GoHighLevel that you know of?

Edited Apr 16, 2025A: Hey Shiraz 👋
Appreciate the detailed question!! This setup is a pretty common use case—using GoHighLevel (GHL) for client dashboards and funnels, while using something like Encharge for more cost-effective email sending and complex automations behind the scenes.
Here’s how this could work:
✅ The short version:
Yes, it’s possible to connect GoHighLevel with Encharge via Zapier, Pabbly, or webhooks—especially if you want to:
• Capture leads in GHL
• Send them to Encharge
• Let Encharge handle the emails using your SMTP (e.g., Amazon SES, Mailgun, etc.)
But—it’s not a native or pre-built integration. You’ll need to glue things together using middleware like Zapier or webhooks.
🔧 Typical flow would look like:
• Use GHL for forms, booking pages, funnels, etc.
• On form submission (or similar trigger), use Zapier or webhook to send contact data to Encharge
• Use Flows inside Encharge to automate follow-ups, drips, tagging, and more—sending from your connected SMTP provider
• Keep using GHL for SMS, pipeline tracking, etc., while offloading email volume to Encharge to reduce cost
🔍 Support article:
Not yet 😅 We don’t currently have a step-by-step article for a GoHighLevel + Encharge setup. This one’s a bit niche, so you’d be blazing your own trail (for now!).
I haven’t personally seen someone document this exact setup, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few folks in the agency space have done it. I'd have to ask around first.
If you decide to give this a shot and hit any snags, feel free to reach out to us at support@encharge.io. We’d be happy to help where we can 🙌
Appreciate you exploring this, and wishing you smooth automation ahead!!
Hi David, you didn't really reply to my question but I appreciate your efforts.
Here is some more clarification:
In GoHighLevel they do provide their own email sending server & they also give an option to add api based email sending systems like SendGrid, Mail Gun and other SMTP providers. I am looking for an alternate for SMTP relay/ API email like MailGun. Does Encharge support it?
Hey Shiraz, thanks for the clarification 🙌
Encharge isn’t a drop-in SMTP/API relay like Mailgun or SendGrid. Instead, it sends emails through your SMTP (like SES, Mailgun, etc.)—but only inside Encharge itself (flows, broadcasts, etc).
So GHL can’t connect to Encharge directly for email delivery—but you can still route contacts from GHL to Encharge and let us handle the emails.
Thanks for the clarification.
Also, do you mean, you do not send out emails using your own/outsourced email servers?
Do I have to mandatorily use my own SMTP (like SES, Mailgun, etc.) and cannot send emails without that?
I already have 2 of your top tiers from the last LTD deal. I remember sending out a marketing email without adding any of my servers/services. Did something change?
Great catch, Shiraz — and yep, you’re absolutely right 🙌
If you’re on one of the top tiers from the 2021 LTD, you can send emails without adding your own SMTP. That’s still fully supported. Nothing has changed there.
Bringing your own SMTP (like SES or Mailgun) is optional — for those who want tighter control or improved deliverability, but it’s not required.
Appreciate you sticking with us !!
