Q: Sub-Account management

How does the sub-account management work?
1) Can I set quotas per sub-account?
2) How flexible is your system when there is an influx of new subscribers that hits
2a) these quotas in a sub-account or
2b) the tier max?
Are subscribers blocked then? Or do you allow that overflow and charge flexibly for that?

A: Hey mrio! Thanks for the thoughtful questions — sub-account management is a big part of the appeal here, especially for agencies or multi-brand setups.

Let’s break it down for you:

1) Can I set quotas per sub-account?
Not currently. Sub-accounts share the total subscriber quota from the Tier, but there’s no built-in way to enforce a hard cap per sub-account.

You can manually manage usage (or assign accounts strategically), but quotas per sub-account is not a feature at the moment.

2) What happens when there’s an influx of new subscribers?
This splits into your great follow-ups:

2a) If a sub-account hits what would be a “soft quota”:
Again, since there are no strict sub-account quotas, the system just looks at the overall subscriber count across the Tier. If one sub-account takes up more, that’s fine — as long as you don’t exceed your total Tier limit.

2b) If your account as a whole exceeds your Tier’s max (e.g. 10,001 subscribers on a 10k plan):
Yep — that’s when we step in. Once you exceed your total allowance, new contacts will still be accepted, but email sending gets paused until the overage is resolved.

Here’s what we do in that case:
• We send you a heads-up about the overage.
• You can choose to either delete some subscribers or upgrade.
• If you're on an LTD, you can unlock extra capacity with a 50% discount on a Growth subscription — only paying monthly for the extra subscribers beyond your LTD Tier.

Example:
You're on Tier 2 (10k), and go to 12k contacts.
→ You only pay for the 2k extra — not the whole 12k.
→ With the discount, that’s $24.50/month for the overage.

We try to be flexible, but fair. Our core principle is to let you grow and scale without surprises — while still keeping things sustainable on our side.

Let me know if you’re thinking about agency use, reselling, or client quota management — happy to dive deeper depending on your setup! 🙌

Thank you, David. That's good that no subscribers get lost.

Ad 1) Can you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by "soft quota", "manually manage usage" and "assign accounts strategically"?

I had for the sub-account a similar approach in mind how you handle a Tier: setting a max and either the sub-account cleans the subscriber database or receveives a flexible payment.

Great follow-up, mrio! 🙌

“Soft quota” just means there’s no enforced limit per sub-account — you manage it manually by tracking usage.

“Assign strategically” = placing heavier clients on accounts with more room.

Totally get the need for more control — it’s something we’re exploring as sub-account features grow!!
