I love it when it works, but then the bugs have costed me so much time!

Flexclip when it works is brilliant for quick, and short video productions. The animations are great, with lots of beautiful templates and a relatively easy editing process.

Let's talk about the bugs which have cost me so much time and flow. I've held off writing a 3-star review to give Flexclip breathing space to iron out the imperfections. I've been using the app for around half a year and experienced many moments where I had to switch to another video editor.

Bugs/UX challenges:
1) When exporting a video soundtrack with animation there can be sharp static glitches heard in the sound. I had to resolve this by exporting the video into Premiere and relaying the soundtrack for the video to have the sound play without any glitches.

2) Video playback bug where it replays the segment 5 seconds before, even when the original has a different clip. This hasn't happened before although it is happening now as I am editing a video for a client. I tried to delete and replace the clip but it seems to repeat this bug.

3) Editing clip transitions in layers sometimes produces hard cuts instead. There were moments when I could not figure out why the transition would not just fade. It seemed buggy. In other cases worked fine but many moments where I had to manually edit the transition timeline with failures and some successes.

4) Audio tracks not individually adjusting properly. In one of my videos, I have two tracks, one for music and the other for the speaker, I lower the volume for the music (layer name in my heart) and it lowers the volume for the speaker. Then I try to test the muting music track and it mutes the speaker!

These are just some of the bugs I've experienced and at times it could be a safari.

All in all, I would love to rate Flexclip 5 stars, but with the
inconsistent UX and time I had to just find another video app to solve the problems, it is not living up to it's potential right now.

At this moment in time, I'd only recommend Flexclip for short social media videos, and simple edits. For anything longer and at a high production value I would send a caution as you may experience challenges in stability.

Overall, a great app, but inconsistent until resolved.
