Redefining Lifetime Deal & Deceptive Remapping
FlexClip’s recent remapping of lifetime tiers has resulted in the removal and reduction of benefits that were part of my original purchase. The comany replaced my tier with a different plan classification, calling it "remapping" which now excludes lifetime customers from receiving the enhancements that should have been applied to the original tier.
AppSumo lifetime deals legally require that customers retain:
• The exact features and limits originally sold
• Plus any enhancements made to that same tier over time
• Without downgrading, reclassification, or replacement
FlexClip’s remapping violates these requirements. After multiple attempts to resolve this through FlexClip, AppSumo, and Candy, I received only repeated remapping explanations and no restoration of my original entitlements. Lifetime deals should be honored as sold, regardless of whether enhancements are made. Remapping is not grandfathering, and customers should not lose value after the original purchase.
Vendors should not be able to reclassify, rename, or replace lifetime tiers to avoid honoring upgrades. Yet FlexClip is doing exactly that, and support continues to repeat the same remapping explanation instead of restoring the original tier. This behavior violates the terms of the lifetime deal and leaves customers with less than what they paid for, but nobody seems to care and passes the buck to avoid accountability!

Oct 12, 2026Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry for the confusion. If our earlier response came across as curt, I sincerely apologize.
I’d like to clarify a few important points:
First, this is not a “redefining” of the Lifetime Deal. The pre-2025 deal (V1) and the current post-2025 AppSumo deal(V3) are two separate deals, with different pricing, structure, and credits.
Second, for customers who purchased before 2025, their original tier benefits remain exactly as originally sold. No feature has been removed or reduced.
When we refer to enhancements to the same tier, we mean enhancements to the same official plan level on our website — not a comparison between different tiers across two different deals.
Your purchase is a Legacy Deal V1, bought before 2025. Those legacy tiers retain their original plan benefits and have not been reduced.
The current AppSumo deal is a completely new deal. Key mapping is as follows:
Old Tier 1 = Basic Plan
Old Tier 2 = Plus Plan
Old Tier 3 = Business Plan
New Tier 1 = Plus Plan
New Tier 2 & 3 = Business Plan
They are not the same official plan level, so they do not map directly to each other. The AI credit model is different too: legacy credits renew annually, while the new deal uses lifetime credits. So this is not a simple update to the same license — it is two separate deals.
That said, we do offer upgrade options for V1 users. You have two paths:
Stack new codes to move to the current (V3) deal structure:
V1 T1 + 1 code → V3 T2
V1 T1 + 2 codes → V3 T3
V1 T2 + 1 code → V3 T3
