Q: Hi - please consider the following scenario: I use a service that hosts files (images, videos, etc.)

for my sites. I then reference these files with a URL wherever I need these…example:

1. https://mysite.com/image1234
2. https://mysite.com/video8765

1. <img src="https://mysite.com/image1234.png" alt="Italian Trulli">

2. <video width="320" height="240" autoplay>
  <source src="https://mysite.com/video8765.mp4"type="video/mp4">
</video>

My question

Can I use Flexi Domain so that if the request to any of the above is from an authorized domain it access the file, but if the request is from an unauthorized origin it forward the request to another path - to display a different image/video?

I’d like to do something similar to redirecting based on country or device type…but base on ip address or domain origin.

Is this use case supported?

Q: So confusing when in your own messaging "Whether you're using Wordpress or a custom PHP code, whether it's a ...

full blown website or just a landing page, you or your clients can run them with their own domains, using Flexi Domain."

Yet any mention of WordPress is met with "it won't work". I wanted to buy this app but between confusing WordPress or Frontly support, vague use cases, lots of unanswered questions and the "just try it" mindset... I'm afraid this may end up being a "pass".

Why mention WordPress if it's not supported?

A: Hi TyrantA,
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused to you.
Let me clarify few points:
1. Wordpress was a mistake from our end. What we analysed later on was it worked only for single page wordpress websites, but if there are multiple pages it doesn't. Reason being, wordpress forces ABSOLUTE URL, and we need relative url. Hence this doesn't work.

2. Use case is very...

Q: I think I'm not very clear on how Flexi domain works.

With Flexi domain, can I redirect path segments, or only landing pages?
For example I want:
AAA.com/contactus to show content from BBB.com/contactus
AAA.com/products to show content from BBB.com/products
How about this: AAA.com/course/level to show content from BBB.com/course/level
Are these doable?

A: Hi,
Yes you can definitely do that.
Step 1: You will create a project with url: BBB.com
Step 2: Inside your project, you will add your child domains like AAA.com. AAA.com can be a client domain. It should be already being used anywhere else.
Step 3: Done!

Thanks

Q: #Our application will not be suitable for wordpress websites.

#

What is the main reason wordpress CMS is unsuitable for use with Flexi-Domain? Does this work well with Drupal/Joomla CMS?

Would you say frontend or backend sites built under React/Angular/Java/Tailwind CSS are more suited?

What technology stacks, frontend and backend is this tool most equipped to best marry to? Does this work well with Headless CMS like JamStack? Flotiq?

A: Hi,
The reason this doesn't work with Wordpress is due to the fact that wp websites uses absolute url instead of relative url. That means, even if you add a 3rd party domains, it works for landing page, but as soon as you click other links, it goes back to the original url. Reason being the URLS are set as absolute.
The tool works best with cloud SAAS tools like Webflow, dorik, brizzy, Weebly,...
