Q: Why does Heyzine load so quickly compared to flipbooklets?
I tried to view the same PDF in both flipbooklets and heyzine, and heyzine really surprised me with their quick loading speed.
1) Do you have any plans to improve your loading speed..? if yes, by when ?
2) Why don't you load first few pages instantly and load rest of the pages normally. This can reduce the initial loading speed and when the user starts to read the first few pages, it will give you more time to load the subsequent pages.

May 15, 2024A: Hi Peter,
Thanks for getting in touch. The speed comparison you sent were of two different books so the speed difference will be down to a number of factors, mainly the content of the PDF and if it has been optimised for web view and images properly compressed. Plus the size of the book.
I've downloaded the PDF from Heyzine and uploaded it to FlipBooklets and for me the loading is identical.

If you see a difference it will be down to the location of where you are compared to the server. I can see that Heyzine perhaps uses a CDN to deliver the content and that leads me onto answering your next questions.
1) Yes! We certainly do. We are firstly moving servers to a more powerful setup which is due to complete by the end of March. We've been leading up to this for a while now so it is down to a few more tests and the final switch. We will also be introducing a CDN which will help improve a little. Once that is complete we will start planning a distributed setup for our storage to improve the speed all over the world. I am afraid I cannot give you a date for release at the moment as we are in the early stages.
2) We don't split the PDF or alter it an any way, and so it has to be loaded as one file. I am sure this can be improved on. I will add it to our list.
I hope that helps.
Many thanks
Ben
