ZevsMaticQ: MCP support and API access for AI agents
Hi,
I noticed that API/webhook access was discussed in previous AppSumo questions, where you mentioned plans to build your own API.
What is the current status in 2026?
Does follow.it now offer, or plan to offer, a public REST API, API keys, webhooks and/or an MCP server?
My use case is connecting follow.it directly to external AI agents such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and custom agents, allowing them to programmatically access monitored feeds, filtered results and new items.
If API access exists, which AppSumo tiers include it, what endpoints/actions are available, and what are the rate or usage limits?
To clarify, I'm asking about API access to follow.it itself, not the specialised “API feeds” included in the plans.

We already had MCP support on our roadmap before the launch of this deal, and given the number of requests we’ve received for it, we’ll prioritize it highly. We’re currently conceptualizing it, so I can’t give you a reliable timeline yet, but it is definitely coming.
Regarding a public API for follow.it itself: we don’t currently offer the kind of REST API/API-key access you’re describing. We did release a new API feature yesterday that allows publishers to publish content into their follow.it feeds via API: https://blog.follow.it/publish-to-your-feed-via-api/. That’s not your use case, but it shows the direction we’re moving in with APIs. :)
For connecting external AI agents such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or custom agents to monitored feeds and results, MCP is the main functionality we’re currently planning. We’re also considering broader API access, but the exact scope, available actions, limits, and AppSumo tier allocation haven’t been defined yet.

need MCP access here because if we can connect us to an agent like Hermes or Claude we can get latest news directly from a certain feed.
Agreed, Wonka. Email alerts and static tables won't cut it. We need a direct API/MCP or data feed pushing top news straight to our operational agents

MCP = Hundreds If not Thousands of sales here in this Deal. So, MCP will be included in the product, but it’s not yet clear to what extent or in which plans it will be included here in the LTD. That could mean that the product itself will support MCP, but it won’t be included in the purchased plans—or perhaps it will only be available starting at a certain tier level.
Or can you at least say that MCP will definitely be included in Tier 4?
