I purchased Formly at Tier 2, Lifetime, so I could use it on several sites without the branding or having to worry about number of submissions or number of forms since I would use the form to offer promotions and ask for information for different purposes. At first I found things to be confusing, since there aren't that many YouTube tutorial videos and the taxonomy is a little clunky to me. After testing one form for several hours I figured out how to create very visually appealing forms. A day or two later I scheduled a free Zoom call with one the developers. He was extremely polite and informative and explained everything to me: how to use reCaptcha correctly, how to use other features to further block spam such as email verification, why my attempts at using conditional logic before weren't working, how to set up the email notification properly, and so forth.

So, after taking some time to get used to the taxonomy, I give it a big thumb's up. Web developers can use the form not just as a contact form but as a way to use conditional logic, routing, and grading responses to screen out clients with low budgets and high expectations; you could use it to have client profiles or surveys, and do it all elegantly.

I wanted to love Formly. On the surface it looks clean, modern, and capable. Unfortunately, once you start using it beyond basic testing, several critical limitations become obvious — some of which are repeatedly mentioned by other buyers as well.

The biggest issue is that key features necessary for real-world survey and lead-generation use cases are simply not there yet.

For example, the ability to limit one response per user/device — a fundamental feature for maintaining survey integrity — is not currently available. This is essential if you're running contests, promotions, or any campaign where duplicate entries must be prevented. Without it, survey results can easily be manipulated or spammed. The team confirmed this is only “on the roadmap” with no timeline.

Another major concern is partial white-labeling. Even when customizing the sender name, the email domain still shows Formly branding. Additional branding also appears in places like the closed survey page, browser tab titles, and link previews when sharing surveys. For agencies or client-facing work, this creates a less professional experience.

There are also usability and stability concerns. I encountered situations where logging in was inconsistent and the Publish button would occasionally be greyed out without explanation. Background image uploads were also unreliable during form customization.

To be fair, the team is responsive and polite when replying to questions. However, many responses rely heavily on future roadmap promises rather than currently available functionality. When evaluating a tool for immediate business use, that distinction matters.

The platform clearly has potential, and I appreciate the direction they’re trying to take. But at its current stage, it feels more like an evolving product than a mature form builder ready for production use in business-critical scenarios.

For buyers considering this deal, my advice is simple:
Evaluate it carefully based on the features that exist today, not what may arrive later.

I have been using Formly for assessment-based surveys, and overall, it’s a very solid platform. The UI is excellent...clean, modern, and very intuitive. There’s no steep learning curve to get started. The results dashboard is impressive, especially the graphical breakdowns. The charts and visual summaries look professional and are great for quick analysis.

That said, there are a few limitations, particularly for more complex corporate use cases. If you require extensive calculations or highly complicated scoring logic, the setup can become cumbersome. Also, while category scores can be shown graphically, subcategory averages are limited to text format. A visual breakdown at the subcategory level would significantly enhance reporting.

The platform generates a PDF that includes all survey questions and the end-screen results, but customization options are limited. For my use case, this makes the PDF less practical. However, to be fair, limited PDF customization is common across many survey platforms.

Where Formly truly stands out is customer service. I had a query, and we quickly jumped on a call to clarify everything. The support team is responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in user success.

Despite the shortcomings, I’m still giving it 5/5 because the core product is strong, the UX is excellent, and the team behind it is top-notch. With future enhancements, this app has the potential to become even more powerful. Highly recommended.

Formly has a very clean and easy-to-use UI. Creating forms feels smooth and everything is well organised, so it saves a lot of time. The logic and automation features are very powerful and helped us collect and filter the right data without manual effort.

What really impressed me was the support — the team even joined a Zoom call to help us set things up and clarify our doubts. That level of support makes a big difference. Highly recommended.
