Q: ‘real-time translation’ and ‘custom voice prompts’
Hello Simon, I am considering purchasing Tier 2, which excludes two features. I have two questions about this:
1. What does ‘real-time translation’ mean? Does it mean that translation into another language takes longer, or is not possible at all? Does it also mean that speech generation itself does not happen in real time?
2. Does the exclusion of ‘custom voice prompts’ also mean that I cannot store technical terms or pronunciations of specific words or abbreviations? Or is this also possible in Tier 2 via ‘Alias’?
It would be great if you could reply soon, as AppSumo is offering a 10% discount on everything today and tomorrow, which I would like to take advantage of if I decide to purchase GSpeech.
Many thanks!

Edited Feb 2, 2026A: Hello,
1. Real-time translation is the globe icon in the player and allows visitors to translate and generate audio in other languages using the GSpeech translation engine. Your website may not have many languages itself, but you can enable additional languages in GSpeech. Also note that multilingual site mode is included in all tiers — if your site already has translated pages, GSpeech shows the correct player for each language automatically.
2. You can still use TTS Aliases to set custom pronunciation rules for technical terms, abbreviations, and specific words. Custom Voice Prompts are different — they are voice style commands that control tone, pace, emotion, and delivery style. This feature is currently rolling out in the dashboard. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks! :)
Thank you for your prompt reply!
