Headroom Reviews

I installed headroom two days ago and so far it's saved me 19.5m tokens across my projects.
I'm not using an API for these projects so it's just been saving me those tokens on my Usage quota via my Chat GPT "Plus" membership...but that's meant longer run times before I have to wait for usage to replenish. If the metrics can be fully trusted - it's paid for itself and more, already.

So far, I am very happy with Headroom. I am building apps to sell later. I am not a coder or IT expert. I just do vibe coding.

Buying Headroom halfway through showed major savings. Over two days, I used 25% of my plan. One day after starting Headroom, token use dropped by over half.

I also praise its easy setup. At first, I had trouble connecting it to OpenCode. That is understandable because from what I’ve heard it is still in beta.

The OpenCode connection process may be less polished. It is not like Codex or Claude Code. Fortunately, the documentation is very good.

I gave the Headroom and OpenCode docs to my AI. It analyzed everything and adjusted the settings. The AI configured and connected everything correctly.

Super easy.

The suggested plugins are also useful. For example, Ponytail or Context7 also reduce output AI tokens. Overall, this is very good software.

I have used it for only one day during heavy coding tasks so far and still, I already see real drop in my token usage compared to yesterday.

I almost missed out on this because the description (the way i red it) pointed to Windows and Mac Desktop Clients. This thing is a nice behaving daemon perfectly running on a headless Linux VPS. So it actually IS something for serious devs. ;) The Token reduction is not that impressive but 10% is enough to make it a good addition in the long run for multiple agents running 24/7.

This is a clear buy recommendation.

I was skeptical with this tool then i read more and saw the plugins and saw the this might be a good tool if it worked well.. and it does work well. At first I thought the token savings were just a number but realized I could work longer without hitting the cap.. in the last 4 days.. only hit it once.. but everything seems to work better now.

Used dots on a always on laptop to help me when im mobile and it works well there too.. more work done, better prodcutivity, better output because of the savings.

Basically i will get my ROI in a week, even more.. Thanks for making this easy to use and easy to understand. The plugin section is also very helpful. helps me make my work more efficient. instead of wasting tokens. This partnered with a more efficient memory setup help the workflow.

I am still figuring out all the options to best optimize, but appreciate both the quick response I got from support with questions and the tool that so far does what it says it will do. Looking forward to seeing how this tool grows.
