Best Purchase made on Appsumo

Heartbeat and it's team are just over the top SOLID. I've been on AppSumo since 2018, bought and refunded multiple of products. BUT...
Heartbeat is not one of the best purchases I ever made on AppSumo. IT IS the best purchase I ever made on AppSumo to date.

Wish I grabbed a few and regretting that I haven't. Can't say enough good things about the product, it's developement, the teams transparancy, it's capability, and it's team.

5 tacos all day

Not What I Expected

I like the idea, but it wasn't what I expected. The low rating is because when I went to shut down the community, I couldn't do this easily.

Deactivating members doesn't mean they will no longer be billed.
Deleting products isn't easy.
Disconnecting from Stripe isn't easy.

And it takes days to get a response from customer service, I'm guessing because it's a small team.

If you plan on keeping this app regardless, then the bugs will most likely worked out in the future. But, for now, I don't recommend.

Bad taste at the end

If it would have been this email today, I would give it 5 tacos. I bought the deal and uploaded 50 courses and I am ready to launch the academy. But just right before I planned my ad campaign, I received an email. Just like all other loyal AppSumo deal clients. The message: sorry AppSumo customers, you get screwed. We have miscalculated the deal and have to take a feature away, we gave you in the past. No more live chat support for you guys. Sorry. You can buy it for $15 a month now. Otherwise you have to wait 5-7 (!!) days for an answer. It does not state the support level in the deal, but it says: all future growth plan updates. If I look on the homepage, it shows: priority support (1 business day) with growth plan. I bought the higher Tier 2 deal and even if I am very happy with the software itself, I have to say: it has a bad taste at the end.

I Heart Heartbeat

Five tacos is an understatement. This is the most impressive product I have backed on AppSumo. The updates have been constant, the service keeps getting better, and the value is incredible. The team is generous and passionate.

The App and the web version are both strong performers. I would love a white-labeled version of the app, but Heartbeat has been transparent in explaining the challenges, and I would rather have strong performance over a little more branding control.

I don't like Zoom. I understand it has a lot of support because of its API, but I want to use other services.

The embedding feature is excellent, but if I would like to see the option to somehow support whitelisted services over to the app. My limited tests show that works on the web version, but not on the app. This makes sense because the app is calling from a different domain.

Hearbeat can serve as a complete platform for a membership or community solution, or as a complementary part of something bigger. The content part of it is a little thin, but that is by design. It's meant to be easy to use on mobile. The conversation and notification aspect is very powerful, and it just works.

best app of 2022

10 tacos and hearts

new to Sumo last year and of my 20ish apps from Sept to Mar, HeartBeat is STILL by far the best purchase!!

HeartBeat solves for SIX gaps in tools alternatives: eventbrite, meetup, Luma, Slack,, eCourses, and Community/Membership.

I probably would've paid double. EventZilla alone was $300 on here
