I originally bought Honeylog to see AI crawlers and bots that normal analytics and WordPress can miss. After using it on real traffic, I realized it is much more useful than that.
The strongest part for me is the evidence. I can see verified crawlers, fake bots, suspicious “human” traffic, the exact URLs being crawled, sitemap coverage, status codes and bot behavior without relying on JavaScript analytics.
The report and raw-log tools are especially useful because they help separate real crawler activity from misleading traffic. Bot Conversions is also a very interesting direction because it starts connecting crawling activity with actual human visits.
Honeylog has become one of the tools I trust when I need to understand what is really happening on a website rather than what a normal analytics dashboard assumes is happening.
Two things I would love to see next:
1. More actionable insights — not only showing what happened, but suggesting the likely cause and the next thing to check.
2. Stronger custom views / actor classification so monitoring services, owned bots, SEO crawlers and suspicious traffic can be separated very easily.
The product has real depth and the support has been responsive. I’m very happy I kept it.
