Buggy and just not there yet
Hubstaff tasks does not have the polish nor the usefulness that their time tracking app does.
I was looking forward to Tasks, but it's rudimentary at best with several bugs throughout. Most of the interactions I had included clicking a button and getting an error message saying I didn't have permissions to do that.
This included clicking a button to create a project, clicking a button to create a task and clicking a button to link a project to Hubstaff Time.
Tasks leaves a lot of crucial pieces to project and task management out.
- Subtasks are just not present. Checklists are not subtasks.
- No linking git commits to tasks. There's a lot of emphasis on sprints and a workflow for developers, but there's no integration with any developer tooling whatsoever.
- No story points
This is a minimum viable product at this point. There's a long ways to go. I had some credits in my account so I thought I'd give this a try but there's no unique selling proposition here to make me use this over more established tools and because of that, this is a quick refund for me. The project / task management market is saturated and it's really hard to break into successfully at this point. A product like Hubstaff Tasks in its current state is just not going to cut it. The creators probably know this, which is why they decided to bait with their Hubstaff Time solution.
I need a lot more to switch from any of the tools I'm using. All the best!
