A teeny bit glitchy
I’m using this app for proposals. Finding it a little hard to get used to and being driven insane with the {INSERT NAME} style parts that won’t prepopulate but I’ll get there. It is surely an error in my settings.

I onboarded a new client and wanted a way to track several things in one place (time, create a contract, billing, etc) - and came across Indy - for the price it has been excellent. Once they add an API / webhooks this will be very powerful. There are small issues (not allowing you as much control on some formatting like on invoices) but those can be fixed over time. I'm hopeful that they will continue to update this tool and allow it to grow into a powerful client management tool. Definitely a good tool for consultants/independent contractors to keep track of clients.

I came across Indy while searching for an all-in-one proposal and freelance management tool, and initially, I was optimistic about adding it to my tech stack. Unfortunately, it quickly fell short of expectations—especially for anyone running an established business.
Let’s break down the key issues:
-No CNAME support: This is a dealbreaker. Being unable to white-label or use a custom domain significantly hurts brand presentation and client trust.
-Poor email branding: The emails look generic and amateurish—definitely not something I’d feel comfortable sending to high-value prospects or clients.
-Misleading information on features: Before signing up, I specifically asked whether Indy includes notifications for when a proposal is viewed. I was told it does. In reality? No such feature exists. There are zero alerts when a prospect views your proposal.
-Forces prospects to register: Even worse, Indy requires your prospect to create an account just to view your proposal. This adds unnecessary friction to the process and makes for a terrible user experience. It’s baffling that such a basic step isn’t seamless.
Overall, Indy feels half-baked. It may work for freelancers just getting started, but it’s not ready for serious businesses that care about polish, customization, or user experience. I’ve since moved on to better alternatives.

When I use Indy and Google Sheets
The disadvantages I see are:
- Header can't adjust font size, making my Thai language big and out of style
- Should have more Header designs, can choose to use
- Can't design invoice page by yourself, have to use only templates provided by the system
- Business info for only 1 company
The rest are designed and made very well.

An absolute gem of a deal
Working with clients is the worst part of my job! Seriously, this software adds a layer of protection I haven't had before, and it feels great!
I was nearly put off by the reviews here, but I'm thanking my stars I didn't listen. Do these guys not know how much creating a contract with a solicitor these days? That combined with 1TB (SERIOUSLY!) of storage for the seemingly endless back and forth, tweaks, and changes to copy and images, means that this will change the way I work 100%!
The only thing I can see missing is recipts. Here in England we send that after invoicing, but maybe this is a weird British-ism. I am so thankful for Indy bringing this deal to the table.
