I had a lot of trouble redeeming my purchase on appsumo but finally did. After installing I noticed that with one of my devices it was impossible to get it to work properly but on the other one it did. I used a quality condenser microphone as input for IrisClarity and did a lot of tests. I have tried to eliminate background noise at 4 levels:
1-just normal background noise (white noise).
2-adding rustling or crinkling of paper and plastics (low random noise)
3-with a radio sound in the background ("natural" noise with low volume)
4-with noise from tools like electric screwdriver or mini-drill (louder noise)
These are my conclusions
1.- The noise suppression has a random quality in level 1 and 2. Sometimes it works well and sometimes you can still hear noise.
2.- On level 3 and 4 the noise suppression works much worse.
Moreover, in comparison with applications like Nvidia Broadcast it is much worse (the case of nvidia is miraculous, although it obviously needs a dedicated video card which is expensive).
The worst thing for me has been that the final audio quality degrades enormously. The microphone that I used as input delivers an excellent quality but after activating IrisClarity, the voice is heard with a tone too low, it loses nuances and quality, in fact it seems that I speak from far away and through a tube. This also happens with other options like nvidia but much less and it is still usable for podcast and quite professional uses, but with IrisClarity the professional use is more limited because the final quality of the voice is worse.
I give 2 tacos because it will surely improve with time and it doesn't need a dedicated video card. In its current state, in my case, I can't use the final result.
