Q: Without a branding removal option, this deal is pointless.

Why not offer it for users who stack two codes or offer an option to buy the branding removal inside your Jivochat account, for a one-time price?

Thanks for your question and feedback. There are two reasons why we decided to take this approach:

1. If we remove all limitations from the LTD and add all the features from our PRO plan, we don't think it would be fair to thousands of our current users who pay us full price. So we added all the features, but one, which is branding removal.
2. Our only goal for the AppSumo campaign is boosting brand visibility. Without branding it just doesn't make sense for us to sell our software at a fraction of it's price. And stacking 2, 3 or 4 codes still makes it a fraction of the original price, which is actually pretty modest even without any heavy discounting (starting from 13$ per month).

Hope this explains why we decided to do it this way.

I totally understand that this probably makes the deal slightly less amazing, but it's the only way we could make it happen at this stage.

The deal is still limited to five agents, so it's really not valid to compare it with the Pro plan, where the user can pay for as many agents as he wants. Five agents is ideal for a small startup and offering the Pro features for this number of agents, on a LTD seems like a win/win. You'd acquire many new customers and many of those customers would end up buying additional seats, as their company grows.

This is the real value of AS to a SAAS company. You acquire customers at the startup phase, who otherwise couldn't afford your monthly fees, and many of these customers later convert into subscribers. The value of the branding seems dubious to me. I doubt that many people are running to sign up for JivoChat just because they see the little branding thing in some website chat widget.

Additionally, you sell other services like the business phone system, that carry usage charges, so many LTD buyers would end up paying ongoing fees anyway. For me, the business phone system is one of the more appealing features. I'd love to be able to consolidate all my support channels, including phone, but I'm not OK with third party branding on my webiste.
