Laborator started creating WordPress products in 2011. From the beginning, our goal was to help people build websites that feel unique, professional, and made for their brand.

At the time, many WordPress themes looked the same. They used generic layouts, had poor user experience, and often required too much work before they looked like a real business website. In 2015, Art and Arlind created Kalium to offer a better starting point.

Kalium began as a theme for creative professionals, agencies, portfolios, and studios. Over time, it grew into a flexible WordPress theme for many types of businesses, with a strong focus on creative websites and powerful WooCommerce stores.

Kalium gives users polished starter sites, flexible layouts, and detailed design controls so they can launch a distinctive website faster. It works with Gutenberg, Elementor, and WPBakery, and includes ecommerce features, flexible templates, and accessibility-focused design.

Laborator has remained independently owned and self-funded throughout its journey. Our products have received more than 75,000 purchases, we have solved over 40,000 support tickets, and Kalium alone is used on more than 50,000 active websites worldwide.
