Quite a long one - hope it helps
Updated: Additional countries already in! If this is the standard then we should expect amazing things from Kavouts - definitely a keeper and thoroughly recommend!
I see Kavouts was founded 2015 (seems early for AI venture). Does the MRR/ARR sustain the team of 15, or is it still in the burn stage? When fully built I feel you can do rather well.
Played with Kavouts for a few hours. I do like it.
The AI analysis is useful. It appears to be pulling data direct from a repository, which, from my samples, looks largely accurate. In fact right now it is the best part IMHO. Very useful is the structure and output for the six standardised reports (Swing trade, Technical, Fundamentals etc)
- Feedback, allow:
- renaming chats - currently chat names are the entire questions
- bookmarking/saving chats and have a button to show only saved/bookmarked - this helps clear out the noise
Portfolio diagnosis - like the idea. Good: how the output categorises them by %ages into categories, such as quality, value, momentum, growth etc.
- Critic: However, I'm not sure I'd agree with the final assessment. Eg, it categorised PAAS as 100% Yield. I would say, given market conditions, it is more of 65% Momentum, 35% Growth. FYI: PAAS yields 0.85%. The assessment needs some work.
Portfolio builder, again a great idea. However, per the Diagnosis section, if Kavout can not correctly identify and categorise stocks correctly, I also feel less confident here. I created a few test cases and several of the stocks came up each time. Only when Value and Momentum were on the complete opposite spectrum did the stocks differ - this is actually good, cos it means it's segrgating by value/momentum
- Feedback:
- You have leavers for factor weights. Why not do the same for Market Cap and Sectors. Consider allowing multple selections. We don't tend to limit our portfolios to small, mid caps etc. Unless the idea is to build multple portfolios from here to reach a final master porfolio?
- The output should similarly indicate, as you have with diagnosis, what type of hold it is. Eg, Value, momentum, growth, volatility etc. You have the levers - the output should similarly be tagged
Smart Signals - this is very useful. Allows you to quickly analise the market for the ideal trading setup. This could be a real time saver. Tested a few and it looks largely accurate. More of this!
Market movers - useful
AI Stock picker - need to spend more time with this
Smart Money - good idea, but incomplete? if the data is available there's so much you could do here. See below.
- Dashboard: I really like how there's the ability to cross reference the smart money. However, on the output, it should let users expand the results: which congress members, which insiders, which Gurus
- Analyst insights: This needs a lot of work. You don't identify the analyst are, simply a target. They should be identified and a click of a button takes you to all of their ratings. They should be rated on their performance.
- Insider trades: Fine, but again should have a clickable link to view all of their actions.
- Congress: Same as above
- Guru: I don't know where to begin with this
**In terms of Layout and features**
For each stock (eg https://www.kavout.com/stocks/nasdaq-msft/microsoft-corporation) you currently have Overview, News, Tech analysis, Stock analysis. You need more.
- A Section called "Stock Smart Money" - this section has separate tables that lists and indicates when transactions occured: buy/sell, value, date, for:
- Insiders
- Congress
- Hedgefund - can you source this data? It would be very useful
- Gurus (analysts?), if so, no need for transactions, but provide their price targets, rate how well they perform
- If your agents are accessing financial data to perform its analysis then why not include a "Financials" section displaying these, so we can review, as well as DOWNLOAD
- This data should be consistent across all companies, eg, income statement, Balance sheet, Ratios. We should be able to toggle in Annual, TTM and Quaterly format
- Users should also be able to download this data in csv - Useful to feed into our own models.
- Section for Earnings & Dividends
- Earnings - for each period
- Historic earnings, EPS Forecasts vs Actual
- Press releases https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/investor/earnings/fy-2026-q1/press-release-webcast
- Webcast https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/investor/events/fy-2026/earnings-fy-2026-q1
- Slide decks https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https://cdn-dynmedia-1.microsoft.com/is/content/microsoftcorp/SlidesFY26Q1
- Financial reports https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https://cdn-dynmedia-1.microsoft.com/is/content/microsoftcorp/FinancialStatementFY26Q1
- Dividends
- Historic dividends payments amounts, dates: ex-date, declaration, payment, frequency
- Current yield annualised
- Payout ratio

Edited Jan 23, 2026Hello Sumo-linger
Thank you for such a detailed, thoughtful review.
On the “2015 / sustainability” point: Kavout originally started as a B2B business working with quant funds and institutions. Today, some of our partners also run asset management businesses across real estate and equities.
This AppSumo product is a newer initiative focused on bringing that research foundation (data, factor framework, workflows) to everyday investors and traders with the new AI development. We’re committed to this long-term and actively investing in this new product.
On your suggestions: we’ll review everything carefully. Many of the themes you raised are already on our roadmap—better chat UX (rename/saved/bookmarked reports), clearer and more consistent portfolio classification/labeling, richer “Smart Money” drill-downs, and more complete company pages (financials/earnings/dividends + better export options). Some improvements will ship in Q1, and others will take longer as we validate data quality and UI/UX changes.
Really appreciate you taking the time to write this up—it’s exactly the kind of feedback that helps us prioritize. If you’d like, our founders’ “what’s coming” overview is here: https://www.kavout.com/market-lens/from-launch-to-liftoff-12-months-of-ai-agents-for-everyday-investors-and-traders.
Best,
Kai
