When I built KeyShift, the whole point was to stop AI from living in a separate tab. You shouldn't have to copy your text out, paste it into ChatGPT, wait, then paste it back. The AI should just be where you type.

Since launch, you've pushed me to take that idea further, so here's what just shipped. All of it, every single feature below, is included on every tier. Tier 1 included. No add-ons, no upsells.

Smart AI Trigger — Type your instruction inline in any app, right where your cursor already is, and the text rewrites itself in place. No menus, no copy-paste, no switching windows.

Screenshot to text — Pull text out of any part of your screen. A locked PDF, a slide, a screenshot someone sent you in Slack. Grab it and it's ready to rewrite or translate.

Live translate — Type in your own language anywhere on your machine, tap space twice, and it swaps in the translation. Built this one for myself first, as a non-native English speaker it's the feature I use most.

Custom AI prompt — Set your voice, tone, and style once. Every result KeyShift gives you follows it from then on, so you're not re-explaining yourself in every prompt.

Custom modes — Build your own AI commands and give each one its own shortcut. Turn your most-used prompt into a keystroke.

Custom actions — Save your best prompts as one-click buttons instead of typing them out every time.

Multiple AI providers — Run KeyShift on OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or OpenRouter. Use whichever model actually fits the task, or switch providers without switching tools.

Works offline — Point KeyShift at a local or self-hosted model and your text never leaves your machine. If you're handling sensitive work, this one's for you.

***MOST IMPORTANTLY*** 

Many of you have been asking for AI workflows to be included in tier 2 rather than just tiers 3-5. I'm now pleased to announce that this change has been implemented on our side! The price for tier 2 hasn't gone up -- only the value. ;)

Thank you to everyone who bought, asked questions, and sent feedback since launch. A lot of it went straight into the product. Here's what shipped already:

• OpenRouter support, so one key gives you hundreds of models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, DeepSeek and more, including free ones)

• Voice dictation now works with your own API key, so it costs no credits

• Ctrl+K reliably picks up selected text in apps like Slack, VS Code and Chrome, and shows your text in an editable box before running

• Windows stay open when you click away, resize properly, and can be moved

• Bigger, clearer text throughout

• Workflow prompts raised from 1,000 to 10,000 characters, with a resizable editor

The app updates itself, so restart KeyShift and you'll be on version 1.3.74.

Here's how the credit breakdown costs scale with the length of the text processed (credits reset monthly) --

Typical costs per action:

• Fix / improve / translate a short message → 1 credit

• Rework or reply to a longer text (full email) → 2 credits

• Summarize a long text → 2–3 credits

• Generate / Ask AI / Elaborate → 2–3 credits (min. 2)

• Voice dictation → 2–3 credits per minute of audio

• AI Workflows (Tier 3) → each step is billed like a normal action — a 3-step workflow on a short message ≈ 3 credits, more for longer text

• Anything through the user's own API key → 0 credits (works on every tier)

In practice: an average action ≈ 2 credits, so Tier 2 (1,000/mo) covers roughly 500–1,000 actions and Tier 3 (2,000/mo) about double. Users get a warning before any action that would exceed their balance.

I'm Endri, a software engineer. I've been building software for over 10 years, and I've made a lot of apps in that time. But KeyShift is my favorite one.

It started as a tool for myself. I was losing so much time switching tabs to use AI. Copy the text, paste it in ChatGPT, copy the answer, go back to Slack or Discord or WhatsApp. All day, every day. I just wanted the AI to be where I type.

The other reason is more personal. English is my third language, and I still struggle with it sometimes. Before sending a message to a colleague I would ask myself: does this sound professional? So I built KeyShift to fix and improve my sentences directly in whatever app I'm writing in.

It became a habit fast. I kept adding features to save myself more time. One day I was building the Keyshift Trigger feature, where you type "keyshift make this sentence sound better" and it just happens right where you're typing. And I thought: how many people have the same problem I do? That's when I started taking KeyShift seriously. I gave it to some early users, got feedback, and realized I built something people actually use every day.

Now it's here on AppSumo, and honestly I'm excited. If English isn't your first language, or you're just tired of jumping to another tab fifty times a day, then I built this for you, because I needed it myself.
