Kroto - Plus Exclusive Reviews

I recently started setting up a knowledge base with Kroto for my company, and it's going pretty well so far. The software seems capable, and the guides (both video and article) are very pretty and engaging.

The app is missing a few features (like proper feedback and bug report forms, a directory where you can quickly link to a specific guide, etc.) and some extra love for the UI/UX side, especially the Help Center, which is the customer-facing portion. Still, it is very solid overall and infinitely better than any app with a monthly subscription.

I'm very excited for the desktop app and if that is released with a few upgrades to the stuff I mentioned above, they will definitely earn my fifth taco.

Also we do have to keep in mind that this app is relatively new so they just need some time to cook.

TL;DR - To get in early, get a LTD at this price, direct access to the devs, etc... for this one is a no-brainer for me. It definitely has some bugs and limitations, but it's already useful and impressive and imo is only going to get more so.

It's early days for this product, and I'm having a couple of issues with using it (most likely due to the Chrome extension clashing with the myriad other extensions I have on my browser!) but I really like the concept and the setup.

I have a growing wishlist for the team, starting with captions (which I know they're working on), a stand-alone app/program (again, I know it's in development), and a longer time limit on the videos. I take their point about people's attention spans, but I want to use this to explain things like automation workflows, etc... as well as AI processes and that's likely to take a significant amount of time. It's ok to have multiple videos now as a workaround, but eventually I'll be happy to see longer ones.

I noticed in their on-boarding video, more than one video was stitched together. Obviously that was part of a bigger marketing edit, but that could absolutely work as a first step; ie. the ability to autoplay one video after another, ideally with some kind of transition frame in between (eg. "~15mins later" with an animated clockface).

I should stop here because my mind races with the possibilities (I'll add them to the roadmap!) but I'll be excited to watch this product develop and look forward to using it in a variety of contexts (as a business consultant, as a podcaster/reviewer, and just as that nerdy friend who can sometimes help others).

Basically, if you're up for some beta-type testing, bug reporting, etc... then get in at this great price - if not, maybe wait for them to smooth out the rough edges, but be ready to pay a subscription fee instead.

I've been using arcade.software for over 6 months now and have to say that this LTD is one that you do not want to pass on. This does everything plus more than what I've been using with arcade.software grab this deal while you still can on Appsumo today!

I initially faced some issues with recording (it didn’t redirect me to the generation screen), but the support was outstanding. The team even got on a call to help resolve the problem.

Once it was fixed, the tool worked as promised, and I’m satisfied with the quality of the output from my screen recording.

I was leaning towards giving it 3 or 4 tacos, but the excellent support deserves extra recognition!

I’m also excited about the upcoming features and hope they prioritize native apps for screen recording, as the Chrome extension has limitations, like not being able to capture iFrames within web pages.

I had the chance to test the software. Overall, I think it is a good tool to make small (up to 5-6 min) explaining videos to describe small software tools. For my purpose, I have to wait for the desktop app (chrome extension is not able to screenshot opened dropdown lists, and we have a lot of them in our software).

Besides that, the result of voice-over and the english transscript is quite impressing. The burner will be a localized version.

The supportteam acts fast and fixed 2+ bugs for me.

So overall, a solid 4-taco-rating with still some upside potential. If you are using it for english videos + written guides, it is out-of-the-box usable as I see.
